The Hub was deemed "unruly" so I cleaned it up a bit today in anticipation to Artwalk this coming Thursday.
You know what that means...
FREE TREES!!!

A makeover at the Hub.
I know this will be a disappointment to some. After years of neglect I felt it was the right thing to remove the old broken down raised beds locked up with thistle and weeds. Open it up to allow for more gathering space. I imagine some live music and a crowd, sipping coffees or whatnots.
I guess it was just yo much to ask to find people to work the beds. After all it is a lot of work.

A call to action & unity, and for everyone to help work toward finding solutions for abandoned properties in Muncie’s neighborhoods.
Live near an abandoned house or property? Here’s how you can help, today.
Please share. Thank you!
“100 Stories and 100 Dreams for Abandoned Properties. “
Property abandonment in Muncie is a complex problem, with real costs for local residents. It requires a systematic and forceful response. Despite the efforts of local state legislators, city and county government and local residents more needs to be done in order to address the problem. A new Muncie Land Bank has the potential to do this work by forging a partnership between local units of government, local non-profits and Ball State University. Join us in achieving this goal by sharing your stories of abandoned properties and dreams of how they could be reused!
Most of all the land bank will need the active participation and support of the Muncie community. We invite the residents of Muncie to participate in an inaugural project: 100 Stories and 100 Dreams for Abandoned Properties. The aim of the project is to collect as many stories about and ideas for blighted properties as we can, to hear as many voices from the Muncie community as possible and to establish the bedrock principle of citizen participation in solving this problem. On December 7th at 7pm, as part of First Thursday festivities, students from Ball State will set up a kiosk where you can share your stories. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to email your story and your idea to [email protected].
