DID YOU KNOW PANCAKES ARE SUPER EASY TO MAKE?
2 c flour
1 c milk
2 eggs
2 T sugar
2 T Susquehanna Mills Sunflower oil
1 T baking powder
1 t salt
In a big old bowl, mix up the drys (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt). Make a li'l well on top.
Pour in the milk, eggs, oil & whisk it all up. Should be a runny batter, but not liquid. Couple little lumps are OK!
Grease a frying pan & warm it up over medium heat till the oil shimmers.
Pour in some batter, cook till you can see bubbles around the edges and on top, flip that cake + brown on the other side.
I like to hold 'em in a low oven till they're all done.

Beets are one of the veggies that are available at the farmers market most all winter! They're great for roasting and pickling or preserving, but they're also wonderful in less traditional uses, too! Like Beet Balls!
Equal parts by volume of shredded beets (toss in susquehanna mills culinary oil, roast, peel, then shred in a food processor or on a cheese grater), cooked lentils, and cooked rice make a great base for fake meat foodstuffs. Seen here, beet balls. Added some garlic, shredded parm, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, and egg to the base. A vegan version would be easy peasy using tahini or peanut butter to bind, and nutritional yeast for that cheesy tang, may need a splash of nut milk to hydrate bread crumbs; or you can skip them!

Kimball's pub has been with us since the beginning. We like to go there and eat foods. Their menu is full of delicious, well-made things using local ingredients. Their tap wall is covered by interesting microbrews, some of which are local (don't worry--you can still get PBR & Yuengling). Always a great choice for lunch or for dinner. Get it.

Know anybody who needs a truck? It's a 28' box on a Kenworth truck. Smooth ride, new tires, new heater air box. We love it. It's everyone's favorite. But we don't use it as much as we thought we would, so it's available!
No--we're not in trouble. We're just selling a truck.
What's your favorite thing to make with our culinary oils & ACV? Mine is salad dressing. I *love* to make salad dressing. Salad dressing is endlessly adjustable. Get an emulsion going, then just add stuff till it tastes good. Here's how to start:
1/4 c acid (Apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, rice vinegar, etc)
1 clove smashed or finely diced garlic
salt, pepper
3/4 c oil
Whisk acid, garlic, seasonings. Continue whisking while slowly drizzling in the oil.
Add whatever else you want--fresh or dried herbs, dehydrated or fresh onion, anchovies, bacon, egg yolk.

Love this.

It's the first Saturday without market. We feel weird. What are you doing this morning?

Susquehanna Mills started out as an idea that became an obsession that has grown into a small, local seed-oil mill serving the tri-state area of NY, NJ, and PA. We produce superlative products that support our region’s agricultural health, and are delicious & nutritious.
We press canola and sunflower seeds into minimally processed vegetable oils. Canola’s smoke point is 400 degrees F while Sunflower’s is 425. So these oils can be used in place of peanut, corn, and commercially blended vegetable oil in all cooking and baking applications.
We’re passionate about food and local agriculture & sustainability. We want to make delicious ingredients available to our region and create sustainable initiatives and partnerships that span segments of agriculture.
In addition to serving many retail clients through our distribution partnerships, we deliver sustainably produced seed oils to various restaurants and universities in our delivery radius of about 3 hours from our shop in Muncy, PA.
