He’s read every book in Craig Alanson’s Expeditionary Force series, so National Fluffernutter Day immediately brought Joe Bishop to mind.

Our tribute? Cheesecake topped with marshmallows, served right here at Vinland Meads.

Today is National Fluffernutter Day, and Chef Sean is giving it the Vinland treatment.

The classic combination is peanut butter and marshmallow, so Sean is creating a special marshmallow-topped dessert for tonight. It is a one-night-only addition from our artisan kitchen, made for anyone who believes dessert deserves its own reason to leave the house.

We are open from 5:00–8:00 PM. Come have dinner, try the dessert special, and pair it with your favorite mead.

Date Night gets a little more romantic tonight.

Danny Weatherly is joining us as a special guest to set the mood with love songs that are slow, smooth, and romantic. Bring someone special, settle into the Mead Hall, order dinner, and share a glass of handcrafted Texas mead.

We are open from 5:00–8:00 PM. Reservations are recommended, but good company is always welcome.

Vinland Meads is closed today, but that does not mean we are sitting still.

Falconry season is coming, and we are working to get our hawks back into shape. Weight, conditioning, response, equipment, and patience all matter before a bird is ready to hunt again. It is a process that cannot be rushed, and we enjoy every step of it.

We will reopen Wednesday at 5:00 PM for Date Night, with Danny Weatherly joining us to help set the mood.

Something different is coming to Murchison.

On Friday, October 16, Vinland Meads is turning the Mead Hall into a real comedy room with three working Texas comedians and a complete stand-up lineup. This is not an open mic or someone telling jokes between songs. It is a full show built from opener to feature to headliner.

Tyler Elliott takes the stage as our headliner, Jared Jordan brings the feature set, and Nathan Cole Winstead opens the night with his unmistakable rock-and-roll energy.

Come early, have dinner, order a flight, and find your seat. The show begins at 8:00 PM, admission is only $10 at the door, and seating is limited to what we have inside the Mead Hall. When it is full, it is full.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: WYATT
From the homebrewing days to the heart of Vinland Meads.

Our son Wyatt has been part of this journey from the beginning—helping move mead barrels back when we were still homebrewing and putting in the work long before we opened our doors.

He started with dishes, floors, and trash. Through hard work and a willingness to learn, he’s worked his way into preparing our food alongside Chef Sean. We haven’t officially given him the title, but he’s basically Sean’s sous chef! When Sean isn’t there, Wyatt steps up, takes charge of the kitchen, and keeps the food coming.

Outside the kitchen, he’s also a blacksmith. Whether he’s at the forge or working a shift, he takes pride in what he does.

At fifteen, the responsibility he’s taken on and the effort he puts into our family business make us incredibly proud. He isn’t old enough to handle alcohol yet—but one day, he’ll run this place. And he’s learning it from the ground up.

Wyatt, thank you for the hard work, the growth, and everything you bring to our crew.
