☀️ Happy Summer Solstice!! ☀️

This week marks a big natural turning point in the year, the bright warm rays of a fully present sun will soon begin to wane, although it doesn’t feel that way in Middle TN. I’ve been lucky enough to celebrate this day in many parts of the world and the happiness of family, sunshine, and more time together permeates through each culture’s celebration. While I love this time of year for all those reasons, it has been harder to convince a toddler it’s time for bed when the sun is still up! 🤪

On the farm we turn our attention towards fall tasks, while harvesting a bountiful summer. Fall dahlias are planted, pruned, pinched and supported. Final heirloom mum cuttings are being propagated. Warm fall hues are being seeded and the weeds are taller than the aforementioned toddler. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Swipe through for some summer scenes including my new favorite pastime of watering the ducks. These are a special mutt breed born here on the farm and we love them so much. More duck content coming soon. 🦆

Most importantly, THANK YOU 🙏🏼
Thank you for buying our flowers, for subscribing to our bundles, for sharing our posts, for liking our stories. We are so grateful for every single person that supports us and we will never be able to express the full depth of our gratitude but we’ll try 😊

We’re hiring! 🌸

McIntosh Field & Flower is looking to add a part-time, seasonal Field Assistant to our small team!

This role will focus on seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and general field work on our production cut flower farm on the north side of Murfreesboro.

Growing cut flowers sounds fun (and it is!), but it’s also hard, sweaty, physical work in the unforgiving Tennessee heat. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, isn’t afraid to get dirty, and can keep a positive attitude through long, physically demanding days.

The ideal candidate:
• Has an interest in plants, agriculture, or horticulture
• Can comfortably squat, kneel, bend, lift at least 50 lbs, and stand for prolonged periods outdoors
• Can work well independently AND collaboratively
• Is dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn!

Details:
• 15–18 hrs/week
• Flexible 3-day schedule, but Thursdays or Fridays are required (no weekends!)
• Shifts begin between 6:30–7:00 AM
• 1099 employment

Plant or farm experience is a plus, but not required — we value good vibes + work ethic over experience.

The farm is also home to dogs, pigs, goats, birds, and plenty of wildlife. Animal care is not part of the job, but being comfortable working around very friendly animals is a must. 🐐

Think you (or someone you know) might be a good fit? Send us a DM or email (~link in bio~) and we’ll share all the nitty gritty!
