We spent this Mother’s Day welcoming new chicks to the farm 😂🐣

Earlier today we thought only ONE chick had hatched, so we rushed out and bought a few baby chicks because we didn’t want the little one growing up alone 😭😂

In our defense though, we had found hatched eggs yesterday, and then today only found one baby, so we honestly thought the others may not have been successful.

Well… we came back home and found MORE babies running around 💀 One still tucked safely under mama and two were wandering around on the floor, so we scooped them up and brought them inside to a safer area.

Now we’re just waiting to see how many more mama has hiding under there 👀🐔

Hey y’all 🐦

Just wanted to give you another update on Spanky. The videos I’m sharing were probably between Days 2–4. You can really see his appetite and energy progressively pick up, and it was honestly amazing being able to watch the progress he made in just a few days.

I fed him essentially every 30–45 minutes, and as the days went on, once he realized it was feeding time, that little mouth opened WIDE and he let us know immediately that he expected service right then and there 😂

You can even see in one of the videos when he first started learning to flap his wings, which was such a cool moment to watch.

Just sharing a few more videos because he did such an awesome job recovering, and we wanted you guys to know he was still alive and doing well.

I’m a little slow on posting updates, but stay tuned and we’ll share more soon 🐣

Another Day 1 of Spanky. He was very weak and we could hardly tell he was breathing.

So… this is Spanky, the baby songbird.

Day 1.

We found him out in the grass, cold, weak, and barely moving. At first, I couldn’t even tell if he was breathing. It was one of those moments where you just stand there like… is this it? Or is there still a chance?

Something told us to try anyway.

We brought him inside, got him warm, and just sat with him. Slowly, you could see life coming back—first his breathing, then a little movement… and then he finally opened his mouth for the tiniest bite.

That’s when I knew—he wasn’t done yet.

Since then, it’s been small wins. A little stronger, a little more alert, a little more attitude with every feeding (hence the name 😅).

He’s still got a long way to go, but today… he made it.

And right now, that’s more than enough.

Meet Baby Girl — our bravest hen 🐔✨

Every morning she climbs the stairs (not hops… climbs 😅), walks right past the gates, and comes up on the deck like she owns the place.

She even made her way inside the house before… just to see what we’re doing.

And before she heads off for the day, she always makes sure to check Zor’s playpen — our 7-month-old pup — for any leftover snacks 👀

Definitely the boldest one we’ve got 💛

The hens are already laying, though! Not even washed yet — straight from the coop this morning 🥚

We still have a lot to build and prepare to get things going, but we’re excited to start the journey!
