My bestie girl and I doing a reset. Yep. Sometimes we just need some saltwater and girl time. Okay, by "we" I mean me. But as my children get older I love these moments more and more. Last week I drove to Starkville for some time with Noah. So grateful for these moments!

Big moon. Big feels. Big energy. This full moon and lunar eclipse brings with it not just the normal letting got but bouts of nostalgia, of loss, a deep feeling of grief. This week I have walked a beach I have not walked in 40 years and those memories hit hard. On this full moon remember the past. Dig deep and as Dolly reminds us, don't forget where you came from. Take all of it...all the lessons...the growth...the good things and allow them to give you a foundation to stand tall now and then fuel your momentum into your dreams. Goodnight Moon.

One episode briefly features an indigenous tribe from Mexico called the Rarámuri. They are so fit and running is part of their culture. When the kids were little, they told their friends that I am a witch. In their defense, they were raised with witchy music, were told fairy lore, and were read Greek and Roman mythology. They were shown a world beyond what they could see with their own eyes. I am definitely not Wiccan and don't (entirely) consider myself a witch. But, I think there is a little witch in all of us. What kind of a witch are you?

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers. These pictures are of my Mother and my patriarchal grandmother. My grandmother was FIERCE and took nothing from no one. She ran the show. She told me amazing stories. She is of the reasons while growing up my father pushed me to be independent.

My mother never received that message in her own childhood though she was also fiercely independent. Her independence was born out of survival.

On Thursday I stood in a crystal store listening to Native American flute music and thought of my Mother. I had the realization (again) that she is most likely a large part of the reason I walk the path I walk. She visited Native American reservations and brought back beautiful crafts to us from her trips. She was a (sometimes) recovering addict and the things I learned during AA and Al Anon meetings as a pr***en most likely informed my personal spirituality. The prayers and meditations impacted me more than I realized for many years.

May we remember our Mother's. May we understand why they made mistakes and may we understand it and give them grace.
