It’s phlox season! Both annual and perennial phlox are grown here, but perennial is my favorite. Also called garden phlox, I love its cute little flowers and its long, thin, strong stems. Instant natural charm and dreamy, romantic vibe to arrangements.

Friends, the rose stems are indeed getting longer! My mind is being blown by these flowers. The petals are super soft and there are like a billion of them. But the thorns, holy cow, look at those thorns. I’ve been wearing grill gloves at times when harvesting!

Saturday marked the first wedding of the season that was fully grown right here! Peonies, hellebore, agrostemma, ninebark, columbine, and other blooms combine for a moody, spring celebration.

I am so so so in love with the photos of Sydney and Hunter’s beautiful wedding from a few weeks ago! The spring pastels, the fun on a rainy day, the twirly dress, the cat cake topper, the love, the joy…..

Roses!

The plants are in their third year, and I did their first “hard prune” a few months ago. I’m definitely a rose newbie, but am so thrilled with the number of buds on the plants! These first blooms are on really short stems, but I think (hope) that they get longer as the season progresses. Fingers crossed because I really really really want to have roses from the farm in weddings this season!

To all my farmer-florist friends, you can fit exactly 48 bud vases in a bulb crate. Happy Thursday!

Coral charm peonies-freshly harvested bunches compared to a few that have been sitting on my kitchen counter for a few days. I love how the intense coral fades into a soft peach with time.

The plants are in their third year and are cranking out the blooms this season!
