I’m loving perennial phlox more and more each year. The second flush is coming in now, and just in time for some fun wedding palettes. I’ve been adding more and more perennials each year to the farm and I’m so pleased that they are really starting to produce! Totally worth the wait.

Eek, you guys! These are three peonies that I pulled out of the cooler and rehydrated two days ago after being dry stored since April. Are they perfect? No. But, they were just loosely wrapped in paper. I think that with tighter wrapping, I will be able to store them to use in weddings through the beginning of August! Can you imagine, dahlias and peonies together? I definitely plan to experiment more with this next year!

I took a break from social media for all of July, smack in the middle of the growing and wedding season. While I love all parts of growing and designing, continuously posting about it is hard for the introvert in me. I’d much rather have my hands in the dirt or on flowers, doing my thing, and chatting with couples and other vendors in real life.

Although I’ve been quiet here, all things flowers have continued on! The fields have changed from spring to summer blooms, seeds are about to be sown for fall planting, and I feel recharged to share all of the beauty with you!

I can’t believe that it’s already the middle of June! The past month has been a whirlwind of the best kind, full of family, friends, dahlia tuber planting, seed starting, tearing out spring flowers, planting summer flowers, weddings, and trying to get ahead of the weeds (not totally successful on this one).

It’s phlox season! Both annual and perennial phlox are grown here, but perennial is my favorite. Also called garden phlox, I love its cute little flowers and its long, thin, strong stems. Instant natural charm and dreamy, romantic vibe to arrangements.
