Trust us—we're working hard to keep your favorites flowing.

But every once in a while, we have to do something a little different..and a lot awesome!

Right now, we've got three special projects quietly doing their thing in barrels. Two are aging in Roo Mountain Vineyards barrels, and two are our collaboration with Mean King Brewing.

Will they be ready tomorrow? Nope.

Next week? Definitely not.

Will they be worth the wait? Absolutely.

Today we barreled a portion of our Cherohala Smoke collaboration brew with Mean King Brewing!

This one-of-a-kind Lichtenhainer-style sour ale was brewed with cherry smoked malt. Today, we filled a tequila barrel and a red wine barrel with 50+ gallons each, where they'll spend the next few months developing their own unique character. Then, just before bottling in 22 oz bomber bottles we'll finish each beer with cherry purée and allow them to carbonate naturally in the bottles.

The remaining beer will be kegged this week, but we're especially excited to see what these barrel-aged versions become as they mature through the summer.

Lily and Patrick were thrilled to host Alan from Mean King Brewing and Angry Hops for the collaborative brew day and today's move to barrels. Great beer, great people, and a project that's unlike anything we've done before.

Look for the initial release of the kegged and carbonated version to arrive late this week or next week. Look for the barrel-aged, bottled version of Cherohala Smoke to arrive in Late Summer / Early Fall. We can't wait to share it with you.
