There is something special about watching the bees work the sourwood blossoms. This short bloom is one of the reasons sourwood honey is so prized, especially here in the mountains. Its flavor is rich, smooth, and unique, and because true sourwood honey depends on the right trees, the right weather, and a limited bloom window, it is not something you find just anywhere. Big night last night! 🌟⭐️

1st, we had the pleasure of meeting Bob Binnie with Blue Ridge Honey Company whom was kind enough to come out and be a guest speaker at the Appalachian Beekeepers' Club meeting last night! It was such a pleasure getting to meet him and learn from his experience! 💛😃❤️🐝🐝

2nd, to make the evening even better, before we even left the parking lot, we scored a quality, name brand (Maxant), used electric honey extractor for just $50 from a fellow club member! What a great night for beekeeping! We’re making progress, one step at a time! 😃🍯🐝🐝❤️

Thank you very much to Bob Binnie w/ Blue Ridge Honey Company for coming out to speak at the Appalachian Beekeepers' Club meeting this evening! It was a pleasure meeting him!
