The vineyard begins to change color, harvest is wrapping up, cooler afternoons invite you to linger a little longer, and every glass of w**e somehow tastes even better surrounded by the beauty of the Sierra Foothills.

HELLO, OCTOBER 🍂🍷

Cooler days, changing vines, red w**e weather and a whole lot to look forward to at The Barn.

Fall might just be our favorite season around here. Harvest is wrapping up, the cellar is full, and now we’re ready to settle into the season with good w**e and even better company.

Come spend a fall afternoon with us — grab a tasting, find a bottle you love, wander through the Farmhouse Shop and stay awhile.

The Barn is open Friday–Sunday, 12–5 PM.

Another harvest season in the books. 🍇🤍

There’s something about harvest that never gets old. The early mornings, long days, vineyard lights before the sun comes up, sticky hands, tired feet — and that feeling when the last grapes finally make it into the cellar.

This one felt especially special.

For the first time, my mom was officially retired. She didn’t have to leave early to go home, clean up and get ready for work. She just got to be there. And getting to do another harvest alongside both of my parents, on vineyards they planted and have spent so many years caring for, is something I don’t take for granted.

And then there are “our people.” The people who show up year after year. Who know our vineyards, know our family, know the rhythm of harvest and have been helping us do this for more years than I can count. There’s something pretty incredible about looking around during harvest and realizing how much history exists between all of us.

The California w**e grape market doesn’t feel particularly great right now. But hasn't for years now. Margins are tighter, costs are higher, and it can be really tempting to look for places to cut corners.

But the work is the work.

There’s something about committing to the process — doing things the way you know they should be done, seeing it all the way through, and eventually getting to hold the finished bottle in your hands.

Maybe that’s what keeps me coming back every time.

Because w**e is ultimately what ends up in the bottle, but this is the part I love most — the people, the place, the process and all of the work that happens long before a cork is ever pulled.

Another one done. Another vintage on its way.

September, you were one for the books. 🍷🍂

California W**e Month, our anniversary, harvest AND our Fall W**e Club Release — there was a lot to celebrate around The Barn this month, and you showed up for all of it.

From early harvest mornings in the vineyard to glasses raised at The Barn, w**e club pickups, library bottles heading home and plenty of good times in between — it’s been a blast.

Thank you for drinking local, supporting our family vineyards + w**e and continuing to be part of The Barn at Locke Vineyards.

Harvest may be wrapping up, but fall at The Barn is just getting started. 🍁
