Miss Ursula was glad that I was able to get chores finished early this morning so she could have herself a little photo shoot! There’s something about her that is simply unmatched — those soft smoky feathers, fluffy little crest that hides her eyes, and her tiny feathered feet.🤍

Yesterday, our sweet boy had an appointment at Vanderbilt. Thankfully, things went better than we had expected, which was such a relief for our hearts. They still want to keep a close eye on things and continue monitoring him, so we’re taking it one appointment at a time.

The newest additions are settling in so well and seem to be getting along great with the rest of the critters here on the farm! Surprisingly enough, our mini zebu has been super curious and has gave them the moo of approval!🐽🐮

Our goal here on the homesteads is to raise animals that are docile, gentle, sweet - natured, and friendly. We have little to NO tolerance for anything less! I truly believe that an animals temperament is heavily influenced by the care they receive, their overall well-being, and the environment they are raised in. A happy, well-cared for animal makes all the difference! We take pride in creating an environment where our animals feel safe, loved, and comfortable!🤎

There’s something so special about slowly building the little life you’ve dreamed about — adding animals, learning new things, getting your hands dirty, and watching your homestead grow right before your eyes!

These little piggies are already settling in and making themselves right at home. We’re excited to watch them grow, learn their personalities, and enjoy all the little moments that come with raising them.

This little homestead is becoming a little more full, a little more chaotic, and a whole lot more us. Here’s to simple living, long days, muddy boots, and tons of critters!🤎

A LITTLE REMINDER FROM THE FARM✨

Somewhere along the way, this chicken hobby started feeling less like a love for the animals and more like a popularity contest. Who has the biggest following, who has the “best” birds, who gets the most likes, who’s in with who, and who can keep up with the latest trend. Let’s be honest here - facebook has became 99.9% drama in the last couple of years!

But here’s the thing… we didn’t get into this to fit in. We got into it because we LOVE it. 🤍

I’d rather be the person who stands outside the box, does things a little differently, raises what makes me happy, and stays true to what our farm is all about. I don’t want to duplicate someone else’s program, follow every trend, or change what we love just because something or someone else is getting more attention.

There’s something pretty special about being original. About having your own vision. About creating something that is uniquely yours instead of constantly comparing yourself to everyone around you.

At the end of the day, these are chickens and animals!They don’t care how many followers you have, how many likes your post gets, or whose birds are getting the most attention. They care about good care, a full feeder, clean water, sunshine, and a safe place to call home🤍

So here’s your reminder to step outside the box. Do things differently. Raise what YOU love. Build the program YOU want. Support others without losing yourself in the comparison game.

You don’t have to be the most popular to be proud of what you’ve built! If I could go back several years ago and give little old me a hug - she would be so proud of herself for building all of this from the ground up!🥹

Stay original. Stay humble. Stay passionate. And most importantly, do it because you love it! Wear your farm name, and wear it PROUD!

If I have been MIA here recently, I apologize! We have been battling the trenches of teething, as well as some sort of sickness with our little. Sleep is a rare occurrence around here so I am trying to relax and rest as much as possible throughout the day and keep my screen time limited so I can be available for my family as much as possible. Thankfully we have an appointment scheduled on Friday - prayers and well wishes for that would be greatly appreciated🤍🫂

I don’t currently have much availability critter wise besides some extra boys. Our hens have slacked off laying due to the INSANE weather we have had. Once the ladies start laying again, we will begin loading the incubators and will be able to offer lives and eggs again. I am currently caught up on all egg orders, I just need to send out my giveaway winners orders first before I take more egg requests! With all of that being said, please keep that in mind when messaging!😊

We will be shifting our focus in 2027 back to our beginning roots, more of a “homestead” lifestyle. We will still keep majority of our breeds and still offer from them but I would love to live more of a self sustainable / homesteader lifestyle such as we did in TN! That being said, keep your eyes open for our expansion and what we will be moving towards. The best is always yet to come! ✨
