Tale or Two Paddocks
Paddock on the left or the first picture is of a paddock we just grazed. If you look close it is uniformly grazed or some would call 'intense rotational grazing'. The benefits are more plant diversity, increased carrying capacity (available forage), and improved long term soil regeneraton.
The paddock on the right or second picture is of the paddock we moved the cattle to. It had approximately 3 weeks of rest since it was last grazed. If you can see several of the plants are just starting to head out and the plants are at their most optimal nutritional level to consume. This results in peak rate of gain for our youngstock and finishers while providing key feed value for our cows to produce milk for their calves while maintaining great body condition
