The Frauenthal is sadly closed for now. But 2021 is only a short time off. Mask up people!

Due to continuing concerns about community health and well-being caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, The Frauenthal Center will be suspending all public and private events through December 31, 2020.

A message from the Frauenthal Center’s Executive Director, Eric Messing:

“This is a challenging time for all performing arts venues across the nation, and we are no exception. Our utmost concern is the safety and well-being of our patrons, volunteers, staff and entertainers. We are focusing on 2021 and beyond, while creatively planning on how to recognize the Frauenthal’s 90th anniversary this fall.”

We are very much looking forward to when we are able to gather in person again and celebrate arts and culture with our West Michigan community. To support the Frauenthal Center during this crucial time, please visit frauenthal.org/support/donate.

🌀ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING 2020 FESTIVAL🌀

After much discussion and with respect to the ever-changing uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, the Michigan Irish Music Festival board of directors have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 festival.

A variety of details were considered by the board, including the unknown timeline for allowing large gatherings and the comfort level of patrons who wish to attend. First and foremost, the safety of our volunteers, patrons, musicians, and vendors was the most important factor in this decision.

The information surrounding COVID-19 changes on a daily basis. The successful ex*****on of the festival involves significant upfront planning and logistics with attendees, vendors, and entertainers from across Michigan, the country, and around the world. So, it is important that we make this decision now due to the hundreds of details and months of planning required to produce the Michigan Irish Music Festival.

For those that have purchased tickets in advance, we will be in contact with you within the next 14 days with details via email. We will also be communicating with our sponsors, volunteers, musicians, and vendors to provide them with details regarding this decision.

Everyone is facing challenging times right now, and in order to ensure the long term success of our event and organization, this difficult decision was the best plan to allow us to move forward. Until we can meet again, please follow us on Facebook and our website for updates and details.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and know that we look forward to celebrating with you in 2021.

West Michigan Pike history at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. These images are of the Grand Haven area - but apply to Muskegon and West Michigan shoreline as well.

The West Michigan Pike was more than just a highway. The people who worked to make the Pike a reality were motivated by ideas and hopes of how this road could benefit West Michigan. They saw the West Michigan Pike as a way to make roads safer for people traveling by bicycle or by car. They hoped it....

This is a very sad year for music lovers. Blue Lake fine arts camp has always been the anchor in the community for quality arts and music education. Let's keep supporting BLFAC for their successful return in 2021. Bluelake.org/give

After careful review of available information relating to the impact of the coronavirus and COVID-19, the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp board of trustees and administrative management team have unanimously voted to cancel our 2020 summer season, including all programs, sessions, and performances from June 1 through August 23.

For 54 years, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp has given young artists a most powerful environment to connect, support one another, bridge friendships, and build life-long skills. We are devastated that we will not have the opportunity to share that Blue Lake spirit with you this summer. But we are prepared to meet this challenge head-on, creatively, and with our future campers in mind every step of the way. We are already counting the days until we see you next year.

For more information on the cancellation of the 2020 season, visit the banner on our homepage at www.bluelake.org.
