Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you "The William Barry Love Foundation."
Founded in 1919 by Kit Carson Love (K.C.), Love Bottling Company has a rich history of supporting the Muskogee community. Originally starting in Eufaula, K.C. eventually moved the business to Muskogee and acquired franchise rights for Coca-Cola and Dr Pepper in Eastern Oklahoma. The company's commitment to philanthropy began with K.C.'s support for local organizations such as the Boy Scouts, American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army. This legacy continued under the leadership of K.C. "Bill" Love and, subsequently, William Barry Love, who took over as President and CEO in 1991 after the passing of his father.
Upon Barry Love's death in 2020, his trust documents established The William Barry Love Foundation, funded by Love Bottling Company's profits. The foundation's focus areas include Muskogee Public Schools, Hilldale Public Schools, CASA, Kid's Space, and The Shriner's transportation fund. This commitment reflects Barry Love's dedication to community development and support for various causes.
As the Foundation embarks on a new chapter of giving in 2024, recent board meetings with identified nonprofits culminated in the awarding of grants totaling $436,000. These grants underscore the Foundation's commitment to empower and protect Muskogee's youth, aligning with its mission to guide Love Bottling Company's future endeavors. The allocation of a share of the company's profits to benefit children and families in the Muskogee area exemplifies the enduring legacy of founder Barry Love.
The collaborative efforts of the board of directors, Love Bottling employees, and nonprofit organizations signify a shared commitment to supporting The William Barry Love Foundation's mission. Their collective dedication ensures that the foundation will continue empowering Muskogee's youth and guiding Love Bottling Company for the foreseeable future. Together, they look forward to making a lasting impact on the community, upholding the values and vision set forth by the Love family over a century ago.
