Howdy, friends. I haven’t posted in a good while. I’m just not very good at the media side of things, and really don’t care to be (not sure if that’s good or bad 😂). However, this 5 month heifer caught my eye tonight in the pasture. What a beautiful calf. She has been with her dam roaming the back pasture with a small group of cows. I like her build and that hearty backside. We have lived by the quality over quantity motto with our cattle, and I appreciate the reassurances that it was a good path for us.

I hope everyone has had a great summer and fat happy cattle.

History has been made here at Rock Hill Ranch. After 7 straight bull calves, Becky, our OG, our oldest cow had her first heifer! I was convinced that there was something in her DNA that she only made bulls, but I guess not. On top of that, we had held everyone off for fall calves, but somewhere in the mix the magic happened, so this was an unexpected calf. But we’ll gladly take her!
