Fresh milk here travels from the cow to the bottle without ever leaving the property. Dakin Dairy Farms in Myakka City is the only family dairy farm in Florida open to the public that produces and bottles its own milk on site. Guided tours walk visitors through the milking parlor, pasteurization, and the bottling line, then finish with cheese making and tastings of what was just made. The Dakin family has been dairying in Manatee County since 1973, and the farm remains one of fewer than 150 dairies left in the state.

The lineup goes well beyond a plant tour. There is whole, chocolate, and strawberry milk, heavy cream, buttermilk, eggnog, and flavored cheese curds in cheddar, cajun, jalapeno red pepper, and boursin style. The Dakin Moofè serves ice cream and specialty milkshakes, and the farm market stocks the full product line. Families can bottle feed calves, ride the moo train, run the corn maze, watch pig races, and take a hayride out to feed the cows during the seasonal harvest festival.
