I am tickled pink! 🩷 We took Bentley off the farm for the first time since February 23, 2025, and he was an absolute rockstar ⭐️ He followed me right onto the trailer when it was time to leave.

We parked at the Swift Run parking lot at Michaux. There was a little camper with a large tarp in the parking lot and two people with two dogs nearby. He didn't care. We walked 1.5 miles up Staley Road and back down, encountering two dirt bikes and two vehicles along the way. No problem! The bugs were so bad that I sprayed him with bug spray from the saddle. He may have cared a little about that, but he was such a good boy about it 🤣

On the little trail back to the parking lot, I asked him to trot a few steps before we reached a log, and he knew exactly what I wanted. He jumped it so quietly and nicely. And the kicker? He followed me right back onto the trailer when it was time to go home!

This is my horse 🐴❤️ I can't wait to get him into lessons to develop our partnership and spend more time with him on trail

As I ease back into riding and rediscover the love I once had for being on the back of a horse, I’m letting go of the need to do everything perfectly or the “right” way and just trying to find the fun again.

Since all Bentley usually does is go around in circles, figure 8s, and serpentines in the ring, I thought he might enjoy doing something different. So tonight, we had our very first jump school 🐴

And he was AMAZING!! In this video, you can see just how game he was—jumping every fence I pointed him at with confidence. By the last fence, we were jumping in sync and having the best time!

What a wonderful boy he is ❤️

I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve ridden Bentley this year. I rode him this evening, and we cantered for the first time in I don’t even know how long. And you know what? He was perfect ❤️ Good boy, Boo Boo! 🥰🐴

We took the horses up to Michaux today for the first time since August 1st 🐴 It felt so good to be back on the trail!

The weather was beautiful, with temps in the mid-60s, but the rain moved in early, so we had to cut our ride short. Burkey's Bro and Sparty haven’t had a lot of work this summer, but they were both happy to get out and move. Sparty maybe a little more than Bro 🤣

Looking forward to getting out more during my favorite time of year! 🍂

For our second ride of the day, we took Ginny and Randy to Michaux with Dad and his horse, Sam 🐎 We walked a six-mile loop from the Swift Run parking lot that included a good climb.

It was humid, but the horses handled it well. Ginny saw dirt bikes for the first time and didn't care one bit. Another good day full of riding!
