All gave some. Some gave all. A reminder it is not “Happy Memorial Day.” Today is a day of remembrance, honor and reflection for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Everyone is invited to the annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony and Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial grand opening today, May 25, at Warbird Park, 150 Farrow Parkway. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. We encourage all attendees to arrive early for parking. Parking will be available throughout the Market Common with a shuttle service continuing from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., courtesy of Coast RTA.

Warbird Park: 150 Farrow Parkway, Myrtle Beach

Memorial & Grand Opening Ceremony: Begins at 11:00 a.m.. Medal of Honor recipient and Vietnam War veteran Maj. Gen. James E. Livingston will serve as the featured speaker. The ceremony also includes flag raising, the Missing Man Table, Festive Brass, and a rifle salute.

Parking and Shuttles: Free parking and Coast RTA trolley services operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to access Farrow Parkway via the Highway 17 Bypass rather than Kings Highway to avoid traffic.

Attending: The event is rain or shine and seating is available for 1,000 attendees, though guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

We enjoy good company, we mix and mingle and we return home with full bellies & hearts…and along the way we meet people that have a lasting impression on us.
