Avery and Smudge 2026. Our fall borns will start arriving mid October. We should have some great show prospects available. We plan on sponsoring piebald divisions at the 208 and are working on sponsoring divisions at some other shows as well.

Avery and Smudge had a great run.

Diesel is insane. This economy is insane. Nothing is stable, much less sustainable. If you aren’t bartering, you better figure out how. I’ve seen posts where people are just giving up on businesses like mobile butchering, stating “they can make more money bartending.” While that may be true, what about that service no longer being there for folks? People can’t live off liquor! Our needs are food, water, air, and other people in our lives, basically. Figure out what’s important. It’s not dollar bills!! Eventually that paper won’t feed you (at least not REAL food), and even if it did, it would likely only be allowed in exchange for something you shouldn’t be giving up - freedoms like bodily autonomy, for example.

If you don’t farm, yourself, find a farmer and ask how you can help in exchange for real food. None of us can be “self sustainable.” It’s a total lie! We have to be community sustainable with everyone chipping in, in some kind of way.

I know other farms struggling to pay mortgages/loans. They’re making as many things as they have energy to make to sell that is real, wholesome, nourishing, but people had rather buy candy bars and chips from the Dollar store! Wake up!

End rant. Until the next time.
