We only made it about two hours this afternoon working in the blackberry canes before deciding it was time to get out of that sun and heat. 🥵

Our little weather station was giving us close to the same information, but I just couldn’t believe it and had already decided we needed a new one. 😂

WOW! 🥵🥵 Stay cool, keep hydrated, and take care of yourselves out there!

Has steadily climbed since about 3:30 this afternoon. At this hour, 4:45 PM, the heat index is 114.9 degrees. Tonight the lows will be in the middle 70's.

We lost most of our raspberry canes during the winter. On a positive note we replanted 100 bare root canes in May.

This variety is a large firm berry, and would travel well. We may have found our U-Pick variety🤞 Let's all say a few prayers they keep growing like weeds and filling out! They are looking amazing!

✨️ We want to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you who came out to pick berries, stopped by to purchase pre-picked berries, shared our posts, or supported our family farm in any way.

✨️ Your support means more than you know, and we're so grateful you chose to make K**b Farms a part of your summer. We loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and watching families make memories in the berry patch.

Our blackberry farm is now officially CLOSED for the season.

✨️ We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Until then, thank you for supporting local agriculture and our family farm. Have a safe and wonderful rest of your summer, and we'll see you next season!

Thank you all for coming out to pick blackberries and to enjoy some BBQ! U-Pickers picked ALOT of berries again today!! Sorry we ran out of ripe berries early, however we are not in control of how they ripen. Hardest part of farming is being at Mother Natures mercy!

We are not sure how many more U-Pick days we will be able to have. As of right now we will be closed Sunday and Monday. After we walk the field Monday evening we will post if we think there are enough ripe berries to open up Tuesday.

❗️We are PICKED OUT this July 4th morning!

Between the poor pollination on the top variety and the extreme heat causing a huge amount of sunburnt berries up there too, the U-Pickers have cleaned us out today.

❗️We are still serving BBQ and Biscuits until it is gone. This is our Customer appreciation we do every July!

❗️We will try to fill more prepicked berry orders next week.
