Last look before the pick.

Monday, we bring in the first fruit from our reserve block, usually the earliest Cabernet we harvest each year. These photos are it on the vine, one last time, before the reserve vines get quiet again.

After this first pass, the rest of the block needs to hit the ripeness we're after before we come back for more. Cool, mild weather this stretch has kept things unhurried, which shows in the fruit: even color, good tension still in the skins, no rush to the sugars.

Swipe through for the last look.

Ever wonder what’s actually happening to Chardonnay while it’s hanging out in barrel?

Our cellar team is currently giving our 2026 Estate Chardonnay a little attention through a process called bâtonnage.

In simple terms: we’re gently stirring the wine’s lees, the natural sediment left behind after fermentation.

This helps bring more texture and richness to the wine, while giving the Chardonnay time to develop added complexity as it ages.

It may look like a simple stir, but these small steps can make a meaningful difference in the finished wine.

For now, our 2026 Estate Chardonnay is right where it belongs.

The best wine lesson starts with a little dirt on your shoes.

On September 19, step into harvest at Groth during Oakville Summer School: Vineyard & Cellar Walk.

Walk the rows of our Oakville Estate as the vineyard reaches one of its most exciting moments of the year. Follow the journey into the cellar, where the work of Napa Valley winemaking comes to life during harvest.

Along the way, ask questions. Explore the details. Discover how decisions made among the vines help shape what eventually reaches your glass. Then slow down and enjoy a picnic-style lunch outdoors, surrounded by the place where it all begins.

Saturday, September 19
10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Reserve your place and come experience Oakville from vineyard to cellar.

Harvest mornings in Oakville start beneath headlamps, while the vineyard is still cool and quiet. Our crew moves row by row, hand-picking each cluster with care.

And as the bins fill, dawn slowly reveals the Mayacamas beyond the vines.

This is Napa Valley wine harvest at Groth: precise, patient, and grounded in the people and place that shape every vintage.

This isn’t just a wine tasting. It’s a 45-year time machine.

Cabernet for the Ages is our exclusive library wine tasting experience at the Groth Oakville estate. Each bottle is carefully selected from the Groth Family cellar. Each vintage captures a distinct season, a distinct moment, a distinct expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Taste how time softens tannins, how aromas deepen, how the nuances of every vintage shape what’s in your glass.

Visit our Oakville estate to experience over 45 years of winemaking excellence.

Why would we send Sauvignon Blanc through a destemmer instead of straight to the press?

Because the path to texture starts here.

For our Estate Sauvignon Blanc, whole-cluster pressing is complemented by a small portion of fruit that takes another route.

The stems are removed.
The berries are cold-soaked.
A limited portion ferments with skin contact.

Those intentional choices build flavor, texture, and depth, giving our winemaking team more dimensions to shape in the final blend.

Every great wine begins with a series of thoughtful decisions.

This past weekend, guests joined us at Oakville Summer School: The Art of Blending to experience one of winemaking’s most nuanced aspects. They tasted individual lots side by side, considered aroma, structure, texture, and finish, and explored how small adjustments can bring a wine into greater balance.

Our next lesson takes us back to where every bottle begins. Join us for Oakville Summer School: Vineyard & Cellar Walk on September 19, when harvest will still be unfolding across the estate.

Harvest will still be underway, making it the perfect time to experience the vineyard and cellar at their most alive. See where the process begins and how each grape moves one step closer to becoming wine.

Send this to your favorite wine friend, then save your spot for September 19.

Headlamps on. Sun still down. First grapes of 2026, just picked.

Semillon, this year’s harvest opener, straight from our Oakville estate.

This is the part that never makes it to the label: hands in the dark, headlamps cutting through the vines, and a whole lot of care before the sun even comes up.

Harvest 2026 is officially on.

This morning, before the first grapes ever touched the crush pad, we paused.

A blessing, as we do every year, giving thanks for the land, the crew, and the harvest ahead.

This is our 44th year doing this. 44 harvests. 44 mornings of gratitude, right here on the same Oakville ground where it all began in 1982.

Here’s to Harvest 2026.

And that’s a wrap on bottling for the year.

Our 2024 Reserve is officially in bottle, and exciting milestone for a wine we’ve been watching closely from vineyard to cellar.

Theres still time and patience ahead, but this one is worth celebrating.
