Founded in 1972 on the historic slopes of the Stags Leap District—first planted in 1880—Shafer helped redefine modern Napa Cabernet with its inaugural 1978 vintage. Week four brought Cabernet from Wildfoote and Sunspot, two of our favorite blocks on the Hillside Estate.

Our crews know these hillsides by heart. They start in the early morning hours while the fruit is still cool, and the bins are full before the sun clears the Palisades.
