Harvest is creeping up on some parts of Napa Valley already, but Meadowbrook Farm ripens more slowly and gradually thanks to the shadow and fog from Mt. Veeder. The end rows are noticeably more purple and will be harvested for rosé sooner while the more shaded interior vines for red wine still have some green berries left.

There are some food and wine pairings that just work- and pinot noir with mushrooms is one of them. With a bite and a sip, we can practically smell the rich soil and feel the cool fog of the Sonoma coast. Cab may be king in Napa, but Pinot is the prince of Sonoma.
