Caldwell Rosé of Syrah — A mouthful of summer strawberries cloaked in oaky vanilla and orange zest, a pop of bright raspberries and liquid sunshine.

Jesus Espinoza is the backbone of our vineyard.

He arrived at Caldwell in 1990 at just 18 years old, fresh from Mexico, and climbed onto a tractor, day one. He worked his way up the only way… The hard way. In 2000 he earned the role of Vineyard Manager, and he’s been our guy ever since.

He knows every single vine on this property. All 100,000 of them. And yes, he touches each one, multiple times a year, every year.

An exceptional farmer. A natural problem-solver. A storyteller. A true friend. He’s a steady presence who understands the weight of this land, and what it takes to care for it. When Jesus is on the job, things get done, and they get done right.

After three decades, this vineyard reflects his standards in every vine.

This land came first.

Long before we had our reputation, JFC planted this vineyard vine by vine on rugged hillsides 600 feet above the valley floor... Guided by instinct, patience, and a deep respect for place, he laid the foundation for a vineyard with true pedigree, built over time rather than claimed overnight.

Cool temperatures, volcanic soils, and an unusually long growing season shape everything that grows here, lending purity, minerality, and unmistakable character to the wines. This is our home. The beginning of our history, and the backbone of our legacy.
