As evening settles over the vineyard, some of our most valuable partners help care for the estate.

Barn owls help keep gophers, voles, and mice in check, protecting grapevine roots and irrigation lines in the process. Nesting boxes throughout the vineyards give them a safe place to raise their young and allow us to rely less on rodenticides.

It’s a small but important part of how we farm, working with the ecosystem around us rather than against it.

A closer look at Salumeh Vineyard, our 12-acre estate vineyard tucked into the rolling hills of Napa Valley's Coombsville AVA.

Named after second-generation Proprietor Sally Khaledi, Salumeh was planted in 2023 on well-drained soils formed from weathered volcanic rock. Its cooler, southern site allows for a long, even growing season—giving the young vines plenty of time to reach full maturity.

This year marks an exciting milestone: our first harvest from Salumeh. With Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc producing their first crop, our vineyard team has carefully managed yields throughout the season and is allowing the fruit ample time on the vine before what will likely be one of our later picks this year.

The vineyard’s full expression is still quietly unfolding, as Merlot comes into its own with its first harvest still another year or two away.

From the vines to the wildlife that call it home, we're excited to see Salumeh's story begin to unfold.

Last Friday, guests gathered al fresco overlooking the Darioush estate vineyards for an intimate Estate Dinner featuring a multi-course menu by our Estate Chef. Paired with limited-release w**es and library Cabernet Sauvignon, the evening offered a beautiful celebration of summer, hospitality, and the Darioush estate.
