A slow Sunday in the vines. ✨️

Hosted by Winemaker Carmel Greenberg, our annual Hirondelle Vineyard Walk & Luncheon began as it always does — with a welcoming glass of Rosé and a few seasonal bites followed by a quiet stroll through the rows, the vineyard setting the pace.

From there, the afternoon unfolded at a long table set among the vines. The Northern Still trio moved us gently through the afternoon — subtle, steady, and in tune with the landscape.

A seasonal lunch by Helen Goelet paired Sauvignon Blanc and Yettalil with a progression of dishes: herb-marinated radishes, olive oil-poached salmon, pistachio pork roulade, and considered surprises along the way.

We closed with our 2023 Merlot and a simple spread of local cheeses — unhurried, familiar, and exactly as we like it.

Thank you to all who joined us!

We're raising a glass to another season with .

Last year, we had the pleasure of pouring Clos du Val wines at several unforgettable Outstanding in the Field gatherings, set against some of the country's most breathtaking landscapes. Ranches, farms, cliffsides and baysides, open landscapes transformed by one single long table. Strangers became friends, memories were made, and incredible food and wine brought it all together.

This summer, we're honored to return as a featured winery at four Outstanding in the Field gatherings, with special appearances from members of our family and team along the way.

Wednesday, July 22 Mead Ranch (Sold out, waiting list available)
Tuesday, August 04 Elawa Farm (Sold out, waiting list available)
Tuesday, August 18 at Provincetown Pier
Tuesday, October 13 at Tate Farms

Seats are now available on Outstanding in the Field's website. Join us at the table for an evening of remarkable food, new connections, and memories that linger long after the sun has set.

We’re honored to share that our 2023 Yettalil has been awarded Best in Show (97 points) at this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards—the only Napa Valley wine to receive the distinction, selected from more than 17,000 entries worldwide.

"Long, poised and eloquent, with notable finesse. The wine is a masterclass in tannin handling: fine suede on the tongue. This blend will age effortlessly for a decade or two." - Decanter World Wine Awards

Named for our grandmother, Henrietta “Yettalil” Goelet, this recognition feels especially meaningful. Yettalil spent her life uplifting others, quietly creating opportunities and celebrating the achievements of those around her.

Like its namesake, this wine is the result of many hands and hearts—from the vineyard and cellar to the people who share it around their tables. Under the guidance of Winemaker Carmel Greenberg, every decision is made with humility, curiosity, and respect for the land. Yettalil is not the work of any one person—it is the collective effort of a community dedicated to something greater than themselves.

This honor belongs to all of them.

Composed of five Bordeaux varieties, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is unmistakably Clos du Val: refined, vibrant, and deeply reflective of an exceptional vintage.

“2023 was a remarkable vintage because phenolic ripening progressed in harmony with sugar accumulation — allowing the fruit to achieve full flavor development, tannin maturity, and aromatic complexity at balanced alcohol levels. The long, cool growing season preserved freshness and energy while giving the grapes ample time to develop nuance and detail. It’s a vintage that beautifully reflects the Clos du Val style: elegant, vibrant, and layered wines.” - Carmel Greenberg, Winemaker

With fresh notes of blackberry, plum, and cassis, the 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is layered and vibrant, carried by bright acidity and supple tannins leading to a long, seamless finish.

A remarkable vintage. A defining Napa Cabernet. Now available.

We talk a lot about Bordeaux-style and inspiration.

For us, it's never been about copying Bordeaux. It's always been grounded in carrying forward a philosophy of balance, blending, and a nurtured respect for place.

Born from the vision of Bordeaux natives John Goelet and Bernard Portet, Clos du Val was founded on the belief that world-class wines could flourish in Napa Valley while remaining true to the principles that have guided great wines for centuries.

Swipe through to discover how Bordeaux shaped our path, and why blending remains at the heart of everything we do. 🍷

Carrying the character of Napa Valley and the structure and sensibility of Bordeaux, our 2025 Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies the finesse of the blended expression.

"Sémillon plays a quiet but essential role in our Sauvignon Blanc blend, bringing softness to the palate, adding layers of texture and nuance, and enhancing the wine's overall complexity. While Sauvignon Blanc provides freshness and aromatic lift, Sémillon contributes depth, subtle richness, and a more seamless, harmonious finish." - Carmel Greenberg, Winemaker

With fresh aromas of lemon verbena, apricot, and peach, delicate floral notes cascade through this fresh, elegant, yet complex white wine.

Now available for your enjoyment.

Stewardship is our guiding principle. It cannot be encompassed in one single action; it is reflected in how we care for our land, how we manage our water, how we operate, and how we plan for the future. Every decision is rooted in intention.

Our goal doesn't end with producing great wines today; it guides us forward, ensuring the land thrives for generations to come.
