Lagniappe Peak Vineyards

Lagniappe Peak Vineyards Care, craft and terroir are the guiding principles that drive our passion to bring you the highest quality wine from our estate vineyards.

Care, craft and terroir are the guiding principles that drive our passion to bring you the highest quality wine. We don’t care to be big; rather we care to be stewards of our land. We care to create wines that perfectly express the place and micro-climate that give our fruit its unique expression of each varietal’s characteristics. In a word, we want our wines to embody the unique terroir of Lagni

appe Peak. Craft defines everything that we do. It begins in the vineyard with a clear vision of what we are trying to achieve. Our vineyard has been designed to express the unique aspects of our location and soil. Craft continues with our vineyard practices, which encourage the highest quality fruit with minimal intervention. Our winemaking adheres to these guiding principles in the handling of our fruit, the selection of our barrels and the custom blending of each vintage. Care, craft and terroir are the “something extra”, or “lagniappe” that we strive to bring to each vintage.

A bit more about our fun vintner dinner in New Orleans. Hard to go wrong when you have a great menu; Chef Chris Vazquez certainly delivered on that score! Four wonderful courses following a sumptuous reception with passed delights and our Jazzie Sauvignon Blanc..

Each course was paired with one of our Lagniappe Peak wines; ranging from our Wolf Pack Chardonnay to our Bebe Rose, DBA Red Blend and Pere Cabernet Sauvignon.

A picture may be worth a thousand words; however, none of these do justice to the delicious flavors of the night!

Hard to believe it is already a week since our dinner at the Opera Guild House in New Orleans. In partnership with the Loyola Alumni Association and Ralph Brennan Catering, we had a spectacular evening featuring a wine reception, four course seated dinner and a selection of 5 Lagniappe Peak wines

The magic of the night was embodied in the beautiful setting; the chance to celebrate a great cause, a fun crowd and, of course, great food and wine.

Over the next few days we will share some of the highlights of the evening. Today we showcase the setting.

Just back from a trip to New Orleans, where we launched this year's Wolf Pack wine, benefiting the Loyola University merit scholarship fund.

While there we also worked to solidify Louisiana as one of Lagniappe Peak Vineyards top markets.

We are proud to be represented by the team at Purveyor of Fine Wines (PFW). Each year PFW hosts their Assemblage in Baton Rouge and New Orleans to provide trade representatives and collectors an opportunity to meet directly with vintners.

Last Tuesday we participated in a session at Juban's; one of the top restaurants in Baton Rouge. When the Juban family opened their restaurant in 1983, the culinary world took immediate notice as ESQUIRE magazine crowned Juban's one of the "Best New Restaurants in America."

Without exception, Juban's continues to set the standard for culinary excellence in the Gulf South. Locals and international travelers alike seek out Juban's unique, creative expressions of Creole cuisine.

Today Iggy is taking a break to enjoy some Wolf Pack Cuvée, made by donor and alumnus Bob Almeida ’72 and Lagniappe Peak. On the nose he’s picking up notes of plum and blackberry, as well as toasty oak, spice, and herbs. And his very refined palate is enjoying the wine paired with some pimento cheese deviled eggs. (Don’t worry, he’s going to church on Sunday.) Learn more: http://iggy.loyno.edu/

Napa is strong and open for business.

Lagniappe Peak Vineyards is already pulling permits and we are planning to rebuild better than ever!

We took a punch, but we are still standing!

Last Friday we brought in our Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon.

Thanks to our mighty vineyard team led by Gerardo Cruz, and winemaker Kian Tavakoli.

Had to wimp out and work on cleaning up the fire damage at Lagniappe Peak Vineyards.

The 2017 vintage will be awesome!

Hope our friends in New Orleans can join us!

Love the resiliency of our community. Silo's, an intimate music club, opened its doors this past Wednesday, providing a needed outlet for beleaguered locals.

Come out and catch a show. John Austin and crew are super attentive and the music is always uplifting.
