Jeremy here, I haven’t posted much personally in a long time, mostly because I’ve been too busy running the social media for Crosby Bakery.

So while you may not have seen much of me, you’ve probably seen more of my professional food photography than any reasonable person needs to see. 😂

What a five years it’s been!

Since Jenn and I took over Crosby’s, we’ve grown the business tremendously, opened our second location — Crosby Cafe inside St. Joseph Hospital — and built an amazing staff who have reached the point where they honestly do most of it better than I do.

Which is incredibly rewarding.

And mildly insulting.

And as for Crosby’s…let’s just say Jenn and I might not be done yet. 😉

But apparently having two locations left me with just enough free time to become dangerous.

Or bored.

Probably bored.

Which brings me to something I have very confidently said for YEARS:

I will NEVER have a boss again.

😂😂😂

Anyway, I have a boss now.

After a long time away, I’m officially coming back to travel allied healthcare recruiting and joining the team at MedWorks Staffing.

And the whole thing is hilariously full-circle.

I get to work alongside my very close friend and longtime colleague Kyle again. And almost 20 years after Jenn Tobin was one of the people who hired me at Core Medical Group, we’re colleagues again at MedWorks.

And technically…

Kyle is my boss. 😂

I’m sure this arrangement will go incredibly smoothly.

In all seriousness, I loved travel healthcare, I loved recruiting, and I missed the energy of building something different.

MedWorks is young, small and growing, which means I get to come back to an industry I loved AND help build something new.

Apparently that was the exact combination required to make Mr. “I’ll Never Have a Boss Again” eat his words.

So here we are.

Bakery owner. Cafe owner. Recruiter again.

Still taking pictures of sandwiches professionally.

And somehow reporting to Kyle. 😂

To all my old travelers, therapists, recruiters, coworkers and friends:

I’M BACK.

Did you guys know there’s another Crosby Bakery out there? It’s in Minnesota. Their stuff looks legit.

Which has me concerned.

What if Conan O’Brien has been trying to contact the WRONG Crosby Bakery about the mascot position I’m offering him?? 😳

Because—I’m not kidding—this mix-up has happened before.

Can I tell you the story of how I learned there was another Crosby Bakery?

A few years ago, an incredibly nice lady called and asked about all of the products we make with apples.

Of course, I explained that our apple strudel is my personal favorite. Then I told her about the apple turnovers, apple pies, etc. She explained that she was ordering for a local apple festival.

Ladies and gentlemen…she ordered $900 worth of apple products.

I was SO excited. I even called my wholesale rep to make sure we had enough ingredients to complete this giant apple order.

Two days before the order was supposed to be picked up, she called again to confirm the order and verify our location.

I explained that we’re on East Pearl Street, but that she could park at our back door off Spring Street. She seemed confused by the street names.

I elaborated. I told her we were in downtown Nashua and asked how familiar she was with the area.

“Nashua?” she asked.

“Yes, Nashua, New Hampshire.”

“New Hampshire???” she said, incredulous.

“New Hampshire.”

::very long pause::

“Oh my God……Oh MY God………OH my God……Oh MY GOD!….OH MY GOD……OHMYGOD!!!!! Oh my God…OH MY GOD…”

“Ummm…”

“This is for a MINNESOTA apple festival!”

My turn:

“Oh my God!”

😂😂😂

And I just want Team Coco to know that I will be playing the role of the Minnesota Apple Festival Lady if I find out that Conan’s been negotiating with the OTHER Crosby Bakery all this time.

Conan. Nashua, NEW HAMPSHIRE.

As Will Hunting once explained, that’s where you get yourself a nice little spread, get some sheep and tend to them. 😂

And to the other Crosby Bakery: we come in peace. 🕊️

But we’re watching. 👀

Conan is ours.

Also, I still occasionally wonder how that poor woman made out at the apple festival. 😂

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning, and the bakery is ready for you! ☀️🍎

Our fresh-fried cider donuts are back, and they brought friends—our Cider Donut Whoopie Pies! Two apple cider donuts filled with a cloud of fresh whipped cream. Yes, they’re every bit as good as they sound.

But don’t let all that apple distract you from the peaches! Our Peach Cobbler Bars are buttery, juicy, crumbly little squares of summer—and we have them until we don’t. 🍑 🍑

This weekend’s breakfast special was inspired by a restaurant my husband and I used to LOVE going to when my son was a baby: The Yankee Chef in Milford. We miss that place so much! 😭

Our favorite thing on the menu was the Yankee Casserole. (A close second was the homemade corned beef hash, which my toddler son used to absolutely MAINLINE. 😂)

So this weekend, we’re calling our special The Yank—our homage to one of our favorite breakfasts that we can no longer have. ❤️

🥔 Smashed garlic-roasted potatoes on the bottom

🍎 Apple cider season is here—and we’re kicking it off in style at the bakery!

This weekend’s special: Apple Cider Whoopie Pies!

We’re taking our fresh-fried apple cider donuts, splitting them in half, and filling them with a thick, dreamy layer of fresh whipped cream. Crispy and cinnamon-spiced on the outside, soft and cakey in the middle, with cool, fluffy cream in every bite.
