Proper Nozzle Selection, Use of AI for Pest Identification, and Current Market Trends to be Highlighted at the ISU Northeast Research Farm on Wednesday March 18th
NASHUA – Kevin Humke, Midwest regional sales manager of TeeJet, Wes Everman, extension w**d science specialist, and Chad Hart, extension crop marketing specialist, will speak at the annual meeting of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association (NEIAEA) at the Borlaug Learning Center, ISU Northeast Research Farm, Nashua on March 18th.
The program starts at 9:30 a.m. with a Call to Order for the board meeting. Kevin Humke will get us started with his presentation at 10:00 a.m. titled “Nozzles 101 for Proper Tip Selection, Operation, and Recognizing Good Spray Practices”. In the next hour, Wes Everman and Arti Singh, ISU associate professor, will discuss the “Use of AI in Agricultural Pest Management Decision Making”. During lunch, Ken Pecinovsky, Farm Superintendent, will review 2025 research trial results conducted at the NE Research Farm and Kendall Lamkey, Associate Dean of Facilities and Operations, will give an update and overview of the ISU research farms. Chad Hart will wrap up the presentations at 1:00 p.m. as he shares his insights on “Agricultural price outlook on grains and livestock”.
A complimentary meal will be served at noon, sponsored by TeeJet and Iowa Corn Growers Association. Following Hart’s presentation, the NEIAEA board of directors will meet. The day’s sessions qualify for three free CCA credits (2 PM, 1 CM).
The meeting is available at no cost and is open to the public. The program will be held at the Borlaug Learning Center on the ISU Northeast Research Farm. Directions: From Nashua at the Jct. of Hwy 218 (Exit 220) and Co. Rd. B60, go west on B60 1.1 miles to Windfall Ave., then south 1 mile to 290th St., then east 0.2 miles to the farm.
