Sink full of the carrot harvest! There were a few that were gigantic! But most were pretty small. The ones that are too small to bother peeling are going to the chickens. The rest are getting blanched and frozen for soups and stews all winter.

🚨🚨MAJOR FURY UPDATE 🚨🚨

Sometime between Saturday and today, someone laid their first egg(s)!!! One of them was even a double yolk!

We didn't eat these because one was cracked and both of them had been in 100+F temps for up to 3 days. So I scrambled them, cooked in the crushed shells, and fed them back to the chickens.

But, now that I know someone is laying, I'll (or the girls will) start going out every day.

Walking through the garden last night, Artemis squealed when she saw the dill. It's absolutely COVERED with Black Swallowtail caterpillars! I counted about 10 last night, but curving this morning, I'm pretty sure I saw even more.

Nothing better than a basket of the most perfect berries ever grown!

I'm picking this much every other day! I started with five bareroot canes in 2021. That means this is only my second year to get fruit. We're making plans on how to expand the plot we have. The canes are nearly impossible to control and getting wilder every month!
