I think what has shaken the world about Dolly wasn’t just her Southern charm, her beautiful smile, or even her contagious laugh. It was her ability to bring people together and make everyone feel loved.

She brought so much life into every room she entered, and she spent so much of her life giving that love right back to others.

Dolly came from very little, but instead of allowing that to make her bitter or resentful, it seemed to make her love her neighbors even more. She never forgot where she came from, and she never stopped giving back.

I think the message Dolly gave the world was about so much more than kindness. It was about giving even when you come from nothing. Giving without expecting anything in return. Loving people without asking what they can do for you.

God calls us to give from our hearts, not out of pressure, expectation, or a desire for praise, but simply because we want to bless and care for others. Dolly loved loudly, but she also blessed quietly. She gave to organizations, communities, and individuals without needing every act of generosity to become a headline. She embodied what 2 Corinthians 9:7 calls a “cheerful giver.”

If we can take anything from the life Dolly lived, I hope it is this: give without needing praise, love without expectation, and choose kindness even when others don’t.

My own goal is to give without pressure, love loudly, bless quietly, and always choose kindness.

I hope we can all live a little more like Dolly, because she was a fabulous example of what it looks like to be a strong, kind, giving Christian woman. 🤍

When I was brainstorming ideas for NewsChannel 5, I knew I wanted to create something that reminded me of Tennessee. This has always been my home, and I love this place so much. I also wanted to challenge myself and try techniques I had never done before. I kept thinking about new shapes and new styles, and eventually I thought about a butterfly.

Butterflies have always reminded me of Dolly. From the murals around Nashville to her amusement park in the Great Smoky Mountains, her presence feels woven into so much of Tennessee.

I grew up going to the Dixie Stampede almost every year as a little girl, and at the end of the show, Dolly would come on the screen with a message for the audience. I remember thinking she was the most beautiful thing, but even more than that, her kindness just radiated.

I’m so happy I chose to make a butterfly. 💗🦋

Rest in peace, Dolly. Your love for others, your dedication to children, and your incredible heart will never be forgotten. 😞

My page has room for one thing and one thing only: kindness.

I was incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to speak on Talk of the Town, and I am grateful every single day for the work I get to do. I’m grateful for my customers, my friends, my family, and every person who continues to support this little business of mine. Most of all, I constantly thank God for His guidance and for every door He has opened for me.

One thing I will never do is make fun of another person or tear someone down simply because we happen to work in the same industry. I truly believe there is room for all of us, and someone else’s success has never taken anything away from mine.

And yes, I have an accent. 😂 I was born and raised in the country, right here in Tennessee, and that is something I am incredibly proud of. Tennessee is my home. It’s where my family is, where I built my business, and where so many of the people I love are.

If the way I speak sounds funny to someone, that’s okay. I’m not embarrassed by it, and I wouldn’t change it. What I do hope, though, is that we can all remember there is a person on the other side of the screen. Making someone the punchline because of how they speak, where they come from, or simply because they are in the same line of work isn’t something I want to contribute to.

I’m proud of where I come from, proud of the business I’ve built, and incredibly grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given.

There will always be kindness coming from my corner. 💗
