Well today we did something quite different but SO COOL! We did a tour of the Olive and Sinclair chocolate factory in Nashville! It was very interesting! These chocolate bars are sold in Whole Foods stores and in small mom and pop places all over the US and other countries! They are all made right here in Nashville and they put each bar into its own little box by hand, 1200 each day! If you’ve never had one, you need to try because they are so good and made of the purest ingredients… cacao and sugar and a little bit of fat to help shape them into a bar. They told us all about where they get their cacao pods from Equador, Peru and the Domican Republic. It was such a fun tour to see how they make these bars! They also make some confections too! You can see we did not leave empty-handed( see our haul in pic) 😊

Today we decided to do a day trip to the cute, little town of Fayetteville, TN for lunch and to explore the downtown! What a fun day! Fayetteville has a pretty downtown square. We enjoyed going in some of the little shops and talking to the very friendly locals! We (me especially 😉) LOVED Carter’s drug store! They had so many cute items….I could’ve stayed all day! We bought a cute July 4th decoration(see pic) that will be so festive on our table! They had many cute baby items as well. We finally decided to go try Cahoots for lunch. It was hard to decide because there were several good options. Cahoots is neat because it used to be the old jail( see picture). Cahoots was very popular and was quite busy. They had a great menu. Lee got the catfish tenders and I got a Cajun, grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious! Fayetteville is also known for their slaw burger…..so of course we had to get some of their famous slaw to try. We were told to stop by Gerald’s Foodland and get some slaw to-go to take home and try since we didn’t get a slaw burger. It’s a mustard-based slaw. We will try tonight! Fayetteville is a nice place for a short getaway to go eat out of town. We will be back to try the Revolutionary Tavern next!

Tonight we are back at it! We decided to finally try Birdsong Social in Spring Hill. We’ve heard great things and they are all true! Wow! Birdsong is a beautiful place located on a golf country club. It is a pretty setting and you can be seated on the outside patio ( tonight they had a private event). We LOVED our food! We first got the ham and Gruyère cheese balls….yum! Lee had the burger with cheese grits and I had the blackened red fish with cheese grits and okra. Lee finished with the banana pudding. We thought everything was very tasty! We would def go back!
We also had a great waitress...thanks Toni!

Tonight we decided to keep it local and try out a brand new place we had heard opened Friday in Franklin’s downtown area across from the Harpeth hotel. is not only delicious but it’s also just the neatest, new restaurant AND butcher shop! They have a great sandwich and salad menu with some amazing sides and so much more! You can pick out beef,chicken, seafood, bacon or just about anything to take home and grill. They also have some take-home meals and cool merchandise as well! There is a really neat vibe inside and we really enjoyed talking to the owners! Everyone was incredibly friendly. Lee got the kaziu burger and fries and I got an Asian salad with added roasted chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious. Lee said it was truly one of the best burgers he’s ever had! We also tried pierogis for the 1st time and oh my they were so good! We are very excited to have just down the street from us and we cannot wait to go back and pick out some steaks or seafood to grill! This is a GREAT new addition to Franklin and we think they are gonna do very well ! Go try them out!! P.S. we came home with some tasty homemade pickles and got a new hat!

We decided to make reservations for Valentines awhile ago and wanted to try one of the places on our list! has been on our list since day one! We’ve heard such good things ! It came through with rave reviews from us! While we didn’t get to try the regular menu because they had a fixed menu for Valentines, it still was excellent! Lee picked crab cake for his appetizer, none were of interest to my picky tastes, 😳😬BUT I did try the crab cake and it was good, but I’m just not a big crab fan…. Lee loved it! Next, he got lobster bisque and I had the Caesar salad and both were great! For our entree, we both chose the steak and potatoes and they were SO tasty, tender and full of flavor! For dessert, we both got the French silk pies! Yum! They brought us out some house made chocolates too! We loved the tunes for dinner and enjoyed reminiscing the 70’s and 80’s love songs with some other guests! So fun! The restaurant is very quaint and cozy and just has an amazing vibe! We loved the location on woodland as well! Try for an unforgettable date night! You won’t be sorry!

This morning we traveled to Donelson to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Lee got Nonie Sue’s table and got the pimento cheese grits which he LOVED! I ventured out of my comfort zone today and got the hippie toast with whipped lemon feta, cucumbers and pickled onions and it was FANTASTIC! I cannot stop thinking about it! 😍I will definitely be going back for this delightful new favorite! We both tried the cast iron biscuits and the house made raspberry jam and we both thought so delicious! Afterwards we ventured into the nearby and got a couple of cookies for later and a chocolate chip for our son (the chocolate chip cookie connoisseur) to try! We really enjoyed Sweet Milk! Great breakfast vibe!

Tonight we headed south to Columbia, TN to try out . It’s just off the square in downtown Columbia, and it has a wonderful ambience, perfect for date night! We ordered the mahi mahi( had just been caught) , which was incredible and the filet with grilled shrimp. One of us chose the blue cheese potatoes as a side and really enjoyed! The service and food were excellent! We will definitely go back. Everything was fresh and made from scratch!
