Tonight we decided to keep it local and try out a brand new place we had heard opened Friday in Franklin’s downtown area across from the Harpeth hotel. is not only delicious but it’s also just the neatest, new restaurant AND butcher shop! They have a great sandwich and salad menu with some amazing sides and so much more! You can pick out beef,chicken, seafood, bacon or just about anything to take home and grill. They also have some take-home meals and cool merchandise as well! There is a really neat vibe inside and we really enjoyed talking to the owners! Everyone was incredibly friendly. Lee got the kaziu burger and fries and I got an Asian salad with added roasted chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious. Lee said it was truly one of the best burgers he’s ever had! We also tried pierogis for the 1st time and oh my they were so good! We are very excited to have just down the street from us and we cannot wait to go back and pick out some steaks or seafood to grill! This is a GREAT new addition to Franklin and we think they are gonna do very well ! Go try them out!! P.S. we came home with some tasty homemade pickles and got a new hat!

We decided to make reservations for Valentines awhile ago and wanted to try one of the places on our list! has been on our list since day one! We’ve heard such good things ! It came through with rave reviews from us! While we didn’t get to try the regular menu because they had a fixed menu for Valentines, it still was excellent! Lee picked crab cake for his appetizer, none were of interest to my picky tastes, 😳😬BUT I did try the crab cake and it was good, but I’m just not a big crab fan…. Lee loved it! Next, he got lobster bisque and I had the Caesar salad and both were great! For our entree, we both chose the steak and potatoes and they were SO tasty, tender and full of flavor! For dessert, we both got the French silk pies! Yum! They brought us out some house made chocolates too! We loved the tunes for dinner and enjoyed reminiscing the 70’s and 80’s love songs with some other guests! So fun! The restaurant is very quaint and cozy and just has an amazing vibe! We loved the location on woodland as well! Try for an unforgettable date night! You won’t be sorry!

This morning we traveled to Donelson to visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Lee got Nonie Sue’s table and got the pimento cheese grits which he LOVED! I ventured out of my comfort zone today and got the hippie toast with whipped lemon feta, cucumbers and pickled onions and it was FANTASTIC! I cannot stop thinking about it! 😍I will definitely be going back for this delightful new favorite! We both tried the cast iron biscuits and the house made raspberry jam and we both thought so delicious! Afterwards we ventured into the nearby and got a couple of cookies for later and a chocolate chip for our son (the chocolate chip cookie connoisseur) to try! We really enjoyed Sweet Milk! Great breakfast vibe!

Tonight we headed south to Columbia, TN to try out . It’s just off the square in downtown Columbia, and it has a wonderful ambience, perfect for date night! We ordered the mahi mahi( had just been caught) , which was incredible and the filet with grilled shrimp. One of us chose the blue cheese potatoes as a side and really enjoyed! The service and food were excellent! We will definitely go back. Everything was fresh and made from scratch!

Ok is a must! It’s a great new restaurant off the mcewen exit in Franklin! They have an excellent menu with so much goodness to choose from! They have some great starters we want to try soon. This visit Lee got the steak frites with a side of broccoli and I got the Asian salad with a spicy Thai vinegarette dressing that was delicious! We both loved what we chose! We definetly want to go back and try some other items! They have a nice heated patio too! Go try culinary dropout! You will love it!

On this beautiful Saturday we made the drive to Tullahoma, TN. My very sweet friend had told me several times that we needed to visit the and today was the day! We decided to go for lunch! We loved it! The atmosphere and decor of the old timey soda shoppe was perfection! The food was amazing! Lee started with a cherry sundrop float because Lori said we had to try the sundrop here! She was right! It tasted so good! For lunch, Lee had the chicken salad sandwich and French onion soup, and I had the white chicken chili and half grilled cheese. It was delicious! I love any place that does a half sandwich and small bowl of soup. There is a picture of a banana split, it was not ours but we had to get a picture because it looked so perfect! 🍨🩷We enjoyed our day trip to Tullahoma. It was a fun day!

Tonight we made the beautiful drive to Pulaski, TN. This was our 3rd trip and tonight we made a great choice with Hickory House! They are known for their steaks. Lee got the JP’s special, the sirloin strip, and he loved it! I got their smoked chicken on top of a homemade hoe cake and it was delicious and full of flavor. We also thought they made a great cucumber, tomato salad. Oh and almost forgot we had the mushrooms as an appetizer, another great choice! Lee decided to try their homemade banana pudding for dessert as that is one of his favs! The restaurant was packed with locals and had a wait when we left, obviously very popular! We would definitely go back to Hickory House!! Excellent and friendly service too!
