Tonight try the Boschkloof Cabernet Merlot blend. The vineyard, located in the well-draining granitic soils of the Polkadraai Hills, is perfectly situated for textbook, classy, Bordeaux blends. Near cold ocean waters, the cool overhead winds sweep onto land. The sun-drenched vines receive a steady blast of afternoon air conditioning, which growers cite as the key for retaining critical acidity.

Lauren Buzzeo of Wine Enthusiast said this about Stellenbosch Cabernet, ‘Think New World fruit meets Old World structure—the best of both.’

It's Wine Wednesday!

Join us between 5 and 6:30 tonight to taste a new Cabernet from the Western Cape of South Africa.

So what's up with the label? Lovely Creatures was named in honor of the insects living in vineyards, celebrating the biodiversity that vineyards supports. Each year's Cab is a snapshot of various plots throughout the Western Cape. planned to deliver a varietally-correct Cabernet that tells a story of terroir...at a fantastic value.

This 2023 Cabernet comes from Table Mountain sandstone soils, giving the wine a more grippy texture than previous vintages. This year was a cooler vintage, which meant the grapes could be left on the vines for longer, developing more phenolic ripeness and herbal perfume.

Sample spring scents - fresh pineapple, dragon fruit, lemon zest, lime juice all on the nose with Mother Block’s Australian white wine. The flavors of apple, melon, herbs, and limestone shine in this delicious and dry Vermentino and Fiano blend.
