Bongo Roasting Co is hiring! We are actively seeking an Apprentice Coffee Roaster to join our team at our roasting facility in Nashville.

Working alongside our roasting and production team, you’ll develop practical skills in roast production, cupping, sensory evaluation, and quality control. You’ll learn how coffee origin, processing, and roast development influence flavor, while gaining a deeper understanding of specialty coffee and the industry behind it.

This is a hands-on production role that also includes packaging, order fulfillment, and equipment care. We’re looking for someone who cares about coffee, pays attention to detail, and wants to learn the work from the ground up.

Previous roasting experience is helpful but not required.

Full time · $19–22/hour · Eligible for healthcare benefits

Not all superheroes wear capes. Some grow coffee. Others help kids find their voices.

Our Coffee Superheroes are getting ready for their big debut, and we’ve got some pretty great people joining the adventure.

We’re excited to announce our partnership with the amazing folks at Southern Word.

Southern Word puts writing and music mentors in schools and community organizations, helping young people develop their voices, tell their own stories, and shape their futures.

And they’re doing a whole lot of it: more than 5,600 young people across 40 schools and 7 Tennessee counties every year.

Coffee Superheroes is about giving credit where it’s due, starting with the often-overlooked people who grow and produce our coffee. We believe where we spend our money matters, and we’re carrying that thinking a little closer to home.

That’s why $1 from every box of Barista Boy & Bongo Baby sold will go to Southern Word.

As we close out International Coffee Day, we’d like to take a moment to recognize our farming partners and the relationships behind our coffee.

With our 30th roasting anniversary coming up on October 11, we’ve been thinking about the people who’ve helped shape how we do things.

That includes Cooperative Coffees, the roaster-owned cooperative we helped found to source organic coffee directly from small-scale farmer cooperatives. Working together has allowed us to build lasting relationships with our producer partners and support farmer-led projects in their communities, from reforestation to food security.

These relationships have helped shape what we’ve built here in Nashville, too. We’re grateful to the people growing our coffee, the partners we work alongside, and everyone who keeps choosing Bongo.

You trust us to care about where your coffee comes from. We don’t take that lightly.

Everybody can say they care about farmers. Everybody can say they care about sustainability. We’d rather keep finding ways to back it up.

New look. Same coffee you love.

We’re excited to share a fresh look for Bongo Roasting Co. and more of the story behind why we do what we do—from the farmers and cooperatives we work with to the communities that gather around every cup.

What’s in the bag isn’t changing. We’re still roasting the coffee you know and love, sourcing through the same organic farms, long-term relationships, and continuing the work that’s guided us from the beginning.

You’ll get to experience our new look online, in cafés, grocery stores, and all around town in the weeks ahead.

Keep an eye out, grab a bag of Bongo when you see it, and share a cup with someone you enjoy spending time with.
