Helene Zucker
Operations Coordinator

Helene began her career in early childhood education, spending 7 years as a preschool teacher after earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She enjoys the opportunity to learn new things about dining, luxury service, and the guest experience.
In her role as Operations Coordinator, Helene focuses on administrative duties, social media management, and executive support.
Helene lives in Los Angeles, California and in her free time she enjoys doing Pilates, crafting, and going to Dodgers games.

Jen Burgess
Plus One Hospitality, Founder & President

With over a decade working for two of New York City’s top restaurateurs – Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Danny Meyer – Jen has worked all front of house service team and management positions across a diverse portfolio of concepts, and in both domestic and international markets, leveraging that experience into a passion for both training and operations.

She is the preferred Food & Beverage trainer in North & South America for the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, as has consulted for an array of premier private clubs (Congressional Country Club, Granite Club, Carmel Country Club), and various clients in the luxury and lifestyle sectors (Banyan Tree, Auberge Resorts Collection, Fairmont Hotels, The Atlantis Dubai, Sandy Lane Resort).

Her areas of focus include leadership training & coaching; systems implementation & training; product & service training; operational evaluations; beverage program creation & audits; restaurant, bar & kitchen design consultation; and management development.

Mmmmmmmm... Anchovies. The umami-est of umami flavors. For me personally, the secret ingredient to make all things taste better.

2 drastically different versions here from the eponymous in San Francisco, some of the best things I put in my mouth last year.

But they get a historically bad rap (Perhaps a remanence from 80’s cartoons? Damn you Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Scooby Doo!), and can be the most polarizing of ingredients.

Known as “el fin de la tierra” (“the end of the earth”), Baja Sur, at the southern-most tip of the Baja Peninsula, is a landscape of extremes. From the jagged peaks of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountain Range painted on every backdrop, to the azure blue coast line, to the arroyos (ravines) that course through the land like veins, to the barren, desert-like beaches of the East Cape, to the lush tourist enclaves and development of Cabo San Lucas & San Jose del Cabo, the region lives up to the name in every way.

As for the cows at the entrance to the airport? Well... that’s just Mexico 🙂
