Brewed up batch number 4 following a hopslam clone recipe from . Experimented with some iodine testing to know when mashing was complete and tried some first wort hoping for the first time! Original Gravity was a little low (1.084 compared to estimated 1.088) most likely due to lower efficiency from it being such a high ABV beer. Also first time using honey in the boil! Interested to see how the yeast reacts.

Brew #2 was completed this Saturday! Single hop IPA using the same grain bill as Brew #1 but using Columbus hops instead of centennial. Trying to learn different hop flavors and characteristics. Cold break on this one was on another level!!

Kegging day! Nailed the final gravity of
1.013 putting it at 7.2% ABV. Closed transferred everything with C02 to prevent any oxygenation. Tasted pretty good, just gotta carb it up!

First Brew day yesterday! Pretty successful brew of a two hearted ale clone recipe from . worked like a charm! Nailed the OG but had a little less volume at the end than calculated. Not bad for day 1! .....Then a tree fell on the house right when I was done cleaning up. Tennessee sure has had quite the year for weather.

Sometimes it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The aftermath of putting the last screw in the fridge to mount the gas manifold and the fridge starts hissing at you. Managed to puncture a compressor line. Now to brush off the soldering skills, try and recharge and salvage this beast.

Finally looks like a brewery! Did some water only tests this past weekend to make sure probes, pumps, and elements are all ready for the inaugural Brew next weekend!

Built a temperature controlled kegerator/fermentation combination chamber out of a free fridge. It's a little tight but can manage to fit 4 cornys in the freezer side! Now just gotta add some tap handles and get some beer brewed.

Surreal experience last night, being woken up by an emergency alert on our phones about an incoming tornado. It was only about 4 minutes from the alert to when the tornado was in our area, luckily the path was 3 miles south of our house. Some people weren't so lucky. Being from Michigan it was an unexplainable experience driving through the wreckage on my way to work with military helicopters flying in overhead like something from a movie. I've only ever seen something like it on the news and its just different in person. In that moment there was just a feeling and chill I can't explain.

Started a couple more projects this weekend. Happened to score a free fridge and started turning it into a kegerator/fermentation chamber. Hope to fit 4 cornys in the freezer side when complete! Also started cleaning the Brew room. Both projects started out looking a bit rough to say the least.
