Brockwood Farm

Brockwood Farm Harry Hopkins, owner of Brockwood Farm, proudly offers an innovative
electrically powered time and labor saving tool to the vermiculture industry.

The
Brockwood Worm Shi*fter, separates worms, castings, and eggs in one pass. The Brockwood Worm Shi*fter has been in development since 1997. The unique
sifting screen does a three way seperation of worms, castings and eggs on a
single pass. Three seperate chutes direct the different materials to collection bins
without intervention. Our customers report time savings up to 90% for the old
hand

sifting method." A job that once took 4 long days we now do in 4 hours!"

The Brockwood Stall sh*fter is the first sifting machine developed in 1997. This
machine separates horse manure from sawdust type bedding to aid in the daily
cleaning of horse stalls. It cuts bedding usage by up to 60% and reduces time to
clean a stall by up to 65%. Both Machines use the exact same frame, motor and drive unit; the difference is in
the screens that do the sifting and sorting.

I'm happy to announce that 2021 has been a record year for Shi*fter sales, both Stall Shi*fter and Worm Shi*fter sales. I want to thank all those who have not only purchased new machines from us but also those who have helped us with word of mouth. I get phone calls regularly from satisfied customers who order additional machines and those who just want to tell me how much they appreciate their existing machines. I hope we all get through this Covid pandemic and have a great new year in 2022.

Our deepest sympathy to Chuck Sheffler, and his family, my main man, and production manager who lost his father today. We will be losing his talents for a few days as he and his family grieve and bury Charles Sheffler Sr. RIP Charles Sheffler Sr.

I almost forgot to announce that we just shipped a Worm Shi*fter to Saudi Arabia last week. The customer received it in 4 days and reports that it went together well and is operating smoothly.

Rising Hardware prices apparently caused by the Pandemic have caused us to increase our prices on Stall Shi*fters and Worm Shi*fters by about 4.3%. Stall Shi*fters are now $2495.00 and worm Shi*fters are $2995.00. There are 4 more Shi*fters left to sell at the old prices of $2395.00 and $2870.00 so if you are looking to purchase soon, now would be a good time.

This sudden cold snap has slowed us down some. We are two days behind on shipments and it looks like UPS won't be rolling for another couple of days. We are hoping to ship a Worm Shi*fter to Alberta, Canada by the weekend, weather and roads permitting. Right now we are under emergency travel "RED" conditions. This means if you are not an emergency vehicle stay off the roads. In a few weeks this will all be like a bad dream.

Another application of the Brockwood Worm Sifter is harvesting crickets.

Sort of looks like some kind of Soapbox Derby car or a baby stroller doesn’t it? It’s called the Brookwood Worm Sifter and it was made to separate worm castings from worms. The original…

Mealworms can be a meal ticket!

We just took an order for a Worm Shi*fter with screens modified to sift mealworm frass, that's p**p, and to sort mealworms by size for breeding and for sale. I was only vaguely aware of this industry a few years back but didn't think it was worth pursuing. Then this past week a mealworm farmer called me to discuss possibilities. After a long conversation, we determined that modifications could be made to our standard Worm Shi*fter that could reduce the tedious back-breaking labor of hand-sorting large quantities of mealworms and frass from a few days per month to a few hours. The new screens or, frass filters, are very fine and represent a consumable supply for periodic replenishment. Wish us luck on this new adventure.

Recently, I have been receiving more requests for information from foreign countries than usual. Last week from Denmark, South Africa, Australia, Sweden and England. I would love to ship more overseas but the airfreight cost is high and the seaborne time is long. Does anyone know of a company in Great Britain that is looking for a new product to build and supply the European Union with? Have them contact me HTTP://www.brockwoodfarm.com.

The Covid-19 pandemic has shut down a major motor manufacturer and my 1/3 hp, motors are in zero supply. I have substituted a 1/2 hp motor as a heavy-duty option but because they cost me more I have added $50.00 to the price to make up the higher cost. When the 1/3 hp motors are back in supply lines I will continue to offer the 1/2 hp HD option for $50.00 extra.
