Back again with a fresh Four Pack coming right at yah!
Bodega Mustiguillo, ‘Mestizaje Blanc’, Spain, Merseguera Blend, 2023
Bodega Mustiguillo has spent years researching + planting the ancient native grape varietals of their home in Valencia, Spain. Here they focus on the grape Merseguera (don’t worry, I have never seen it anywhere else either). Sometimes made in large quantites with bland results. But here Merseguera adds a salty edge to this citrus + white flower foward blend. The addition of Macabeo, Malvasia, + Viognier pump up the aromatics. A lovely companion to grilled shrimp or prawns.
Salem Wine Co., Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon, Chardonnay 2021
A Chardonnay of minerality, salinity + just round enough yellow orchard fruit. Sourced from the Seven Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills region of Oregon, the first in the area recognized for its excellent chardonnay. If you like White Burgundy but don’t always like the price, this is a wine for you! Don’t over think the pairing, this Pacific Northwest white is made for your favorite Salmon recipe.
Domaine Majas, Cotes Catalanes, France, Carignan Blend 2024
Las Majas is located about as far South as you can go in France before it becomes Spain. Closer to the Mediteranean than the Atlantic, the wines have a sunny disposition married to the refreshing breeze of the coast. Think charming red berry fruit with a flattering frame of wild herbs. Partners well with pork sausage as it will grilled fish. Drink with a chill!
Vinedos del Jorcos, ‘Las Cabañuelas’, Cebreros, Spain, Grenache 2023
Herbs de Provence, exotic spices, beguiling red fruit, kirsch... the list of aromas this wine offers up is just astounding. The palate is full, juicy + ripe with enough energy to keep you coming back to the glass for more. Grenache grown at high altitudes on sandy soil is almost always a formula for success. Should cozy up nicely to some Lamb Merguez.
