Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚 Today we’re sharing how specialty recycling works on campus!

Glass, used pens, ink cartridges and batteries have designated recycling drop-off locations across Vanderbilt. You can find the full list of locations on the website.

All items must be clean and dry. Oils or food residue can contaminate materials and make them non-recyclable. When in doubt, throw it out!

Happy Earth Month🌎 We’re celebrating by bringing sharing a few tips on how to recycle on campus ♻️

Vanderbilt uses three main recycling streams: mixed paper, plastics & aluminum, and cardboard. Bins are placed across campus and labeled to help with sorting. For plastics, we accept clean containers labelled 1-7, which are printed on all recyclable plastic materials. Make sure you rinse, dry and double check before dropping off any recyclable items in the bins!

Food waste and compostable items, including napkins and select containers, can be disposed of on the trash belts in dining locations. 💚💚💚
