If you have not tried a Cotton Blue cheesecake yet, now is a good time to change that.
Cotton Blues Cheesecake Company is a Mississippi original. The recipe was first created by pastry chef Shaun Davis at age 15 in small-town Mississippi, and after he partnered with restaurant owner Chris Ortego, they began selling it at Cotton Blues restaurant in Hattiesburg in 2012. Word spread fast.
These cheesecakes are handmade in small batches using only seven main ingredients, including Philadelphia cream cheese and pure vanilla extract, and each one weighs in at four pounds. Cotton Blues has been named one of the Best Cheesecakes in America by Delish and MSN. Their tagline says it all: Mississippi Made, New York Approved.
We carry them here at Hicks-Chiks in four flavors: original, caramel sea salt, blueberry swirl, and strawberry swirl. They come frozen, which is actually part of the recipe. You can slice off what you need and put the rest back, making it one of the easiest desserts you will ever serve.
