This job is a bread delivery job. You will be delivering brands like Bunny Bread, Wonder Bread, Nature’s Own, Tasty Kake to the Natchitoches area. This is a contract job. Not a pay per hour contract. Day rate applies for completion of the days task. Must be 23 years of age with a good driving record. Must be reliable and self-motivated. If you are prone to calling in, this is not the place for you. We have a 4-day work week. This is year-round work. Normal workdays are Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat. Length of workday varies from day to day due to things like traffic, amount of product to be delivered and what stops are on that day’s delivery schedule, also how quick or slow you work. Averaged estimated workday around 10 to 11 hours and starts between 2:00 and 3:00 am. Must meet delivery requirements of accounts serviced. Delivery days are set by the bakery. Schedule might change on major holiday weeks. We are traditionally off on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Vacation time offered after one year anniversary of hire. One-week paid Vacation or one extra week of pay if no vacation is taken. Time off, paid or unpaid, is always dependent on availability of relief driver. Responsibility's - Order packaged bakery items (sliced bread and snack cakes), load merchandise on to a trailer pulled by a pick-up truck. Deliver and merchandise product to restaurants, stores, schools, and other institutions that require fresh bakery goods. Pick up stale bread and empty bread trays and return them to the depot. You will have to use a handheld computer and thermal printer to generate invoices, orders, inventories. All tools required are furnished (i.e., truck, fuel, trailer, handheld computer, printer, dolly). You will be responsible for some handling of money collected in the prosses of selling bread.
