Come out and join us and support our local breeders.

We are going to get 15-30 dna s*xing competed tonight on order to have Silkie pullets and roos

We will also have straight run silkies / showgirls as well.

DNA egg s*xing worked!!! 🥚🎉

I am SO excited! We still have some learning to do, but the process is working!

Today’s results:
🐥 7 girls
🐥 5 boys

The boys will be removed before hatch (unless I need a specific color project 😅), which means fewer roosters to place later and more focus on the girls we’re looking for.

Very soon we’ll be offering DNA-tested Silkie pullets (girls)! 💕

Huge thanks to Chick Check for the equipment and training on the DNA testing process itself.

As for the egg sampling process, we researched, tested, and figured it out. We missed DNA on 2 samples and had 1 pipetting mishap, but the rest came back successfully!

We’re finishing the remaining eggs tomorrow. If you’re curious about how DNA egg s*xing works, send me a message, I’d be happy to share what we’ve learned so far!

Also just learned to DNA s*x chicks so we will be offering dna s*xed silkies in a couple weeks.

We have black, white, white showgirl currently straight run

Next hatch in 10 days we will offer dns s*xed silkies from that hatch in 15-20 days.

This beautiful juvenile Silkie has the sweetest white feathers with little painted markings and we honestly can’t decide what to name this baby yet. 😂
