It’s time to update everyone as to what’s been happening at the farm.
Yesterday was a big day as we started Phase II of renovations……. building the new lambing barn!!!!!!
It was a bitter sweet day as the “old garage” which was built in 1940 and the “steer barn” which mom and dad had built in 1964 when Denise started her 4-H steer projects where tore down to make way for the new lambing barn. I will admit that it was emotional seeing these buildings being demolished but I know that mom, dad and Denise will approve of the new lambing barn!!!

What a great day we had at the 2026 Big E in West Springfield, MA. The Big E was our 1st show of the year and our lambs did not disappoint as they all placed in the top end of their classes…..

Congratulations to Foster King on a great show at the Ohio State Fair Junior and Open Fitted Hampshire Show this past weekend.

Foster’s ram lambs that he purchased from us this spring placed 1st and 2nd in both the Junior and Open Fitted Shows! The 2 rams were sired by our rams “Waldo” and “Moe”.

Foster also had the 1st place Fitted ewe lamb in both shows who is sired by “Just in Case” Spoonster 2525 the ram we own together with Foster and Bobby Spoonster.

Lots of exciting news coming from all of our flocks in the near future……. Stay turned!!!!

Like father - like daughter!!!!!

Congratulations to Foster King on his 1st place fitted March ewe lamb at the All American Jr Show in Timonium, MD this weekend!

Foster’s ewe lamb is sired by Spoonster 25-25 “Just In Case” the 1st place March ram lamb and Champion Fitted Hampshire Ram at the 2025 AAJS. We’re so excited to be partners with Foster and Spoonster Hamps on this outstanding ram!!!!!

His sire is Double Bar D 2202 “DJ”
DJ was sired by BAA BAA Acres 327 “Life is
Good” and his dam is BAA BAA Acres 286
“Donna.” You will find many class winners and national champions in his pedigree.

His dam is Double Bar D 2111 who
was sired by DBD 2060 who was our
outstanding son of BAA BAA Acres
262 “Abracadabra”. Abracadabra was the 1st
place March ram at Louisville in 2017.

“Leo” was a pen mate of our popular 1st Place Fitted Yr Ram at the 2026 Ohio Showcase Show and Sale at Greenville, Ohio and is built and bred very similar………,

Over the past few years we have not been able to attend many of the shows and sales but the sheep that we have sold privately off the farm have gone on to make their mark in the flocks of so many. We take pride in the type of Hampshires we raise and I’m sure you will not be disappointed

We are so proud of Lot #1111 - Double Bar D 2503, “Homer,” the 1st place fitted yearling ram at the Ohio Showcase Show & Sale today. The Hampshire sale will be tomorrow afternoon. Sale management for the sale is Select Livestock Services (www.selectls.net). The sale will also be online through Breeders World. If you're interested in placing a bid, you can also contact Tor Sorensen, AHSA breed secretary. Tor will be glad to help anyone interested in purchasing from the sale.
