We are excited to announce our Summer Brahman Championship Series taking place this June! Sign up your males and females born between June 1st - November 30th, 2024 to measure economically relevant traits among their contemporary groups. Entries are due June 16th and cattle will be eligible to move in June 23rd and 24th. STgenetics was honored to receive the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) Performance Breeder of the Year award. This award is presented to an ABBA member who successfully utilizes the ABBA performance programs in the pursuit of improving the Brahman breed.

Adelyn Allen, STgenetics Beef Operations Manager, Gustavo Toro, STgenetics Director of Beef Support Services and Eddy Valenzuela, STgenetics Brahman Herd Manager, were on hand to receive the award at the ABBA Annual Meeting held last week in Texas.

As a company, STgenetics was also excited to be a part of the International Brahman Show as a sponsor and honored to be recognized with the Performance Breeder of the Year award. We look forward to continuing our work with the ABBA to advance the breed and the industry through genetics and technology.

To round out the Genetic Development Center's World Brahman Championship Series categories, the last award, Performance Champion, is from Carcass Revenue minus the Input Costs minus the Fixed Costs, which equals Profit. The Performance Champion Female was awarded to MISS CK 79/3, owned by Chuck Kiker. 79/3 had a Carcass Value of $1,724, a Feed Cost of $440, and a Feeder Profitability of $341. Congratulations to Chuck on an outstanding female!

The Performance Champion Bull was awarded to JDH JAI MANSO 264/1 ET, owned by J.D. Hudgins Inc. - Goudeau Division. The Genetic Development Center's World Brahman Championship Series Sustainability Champion Female was awarded to RIO MS ROCO 105L, owned by Rio Ranch. The profitable sustainability is a combination of Feed Intake, Days on Feed (average daily gain), and pound of product. 105L had a Feed Cost Saving of $222, Yardage Savings of $15, a Feeder Cost Savings of $237, and a Tons CO2e Savings of 0.71. Congratulations to the Rio Ranch!
