I stopped into one of my favorite places today - the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity - to drop off some book donations and pick out a good read for Thanksgiving break, and I was happily surprised to see Grow Wild Local Lemon at the front door! The MOMs Club of Nazareth arranged this beautiful basket featuring local artisanal gifts, and donated it to help the library raise money through its holiday raffle. Thank you, MOMs Club, for including Grow Wild in your support of Nazareth Library.

If you live locally, please check out the incredible array of raffle baskets at the library. Many of you know that my past professional life included a decade as a professional librarian at the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity. Every year my daughter looks forward to buying raffle tickets, and additionally we donate to the library during their annual campaign. Free access to information, including book borrowing, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the impact that public libraries have on our communities.

And if you don't live locally, consider a gift to your own local public library this holiday season. It's hard to think of an organization with a better ROI than your public library.

Before the ground fully freezes, we have to harvest roots. Today was the perfect day to dig and clean roots, because it's tough to wash roots when it's cold. ❄️
The ashwagandha crop was small this year, but a little goes a long way! We also harvested marshmallow, which is probably my favorite herb of all time for its amazing health benefits for sore stomachs and throats, and valerian which is the perfect sleep aid.

Our rose bushes are huge and the hips are ripening. I was surprised to still see blooms on some of the Rugosa bushes, and the Dog rose and Sweet Briar branches are heavy with hips. I will harvest them when they sweeten up after the first light frost. Last year I used rose hips and a specialty stomach tea I made for Mishoga Peace Within, to support their annual Spring fast. Hopefully this year's crop will be large enough so I can create a blend to distribute more widely.
