Hooray!! Get ready for some good Texas BBQ!!!!!

Hi friends — we’re John and Tara.

We’re excited to share that we are the new owners of Bourbon Barrel.

We’re honored to continue the legacy of great food that’s already been built here. Things may look a little different, but our goal is simple — to serve you the best possible bite every time.

Our focus will be Texas-style BBQ — slow smoked, done right, and made with care. We love trying new things, and we hope you do too.

We can’t wait to welcome you in and show you what we’ve been working on.

Final pop up of the year!!
Saturday, November 29, 2025.
11:00am-5:30pm
We will be INSIDE Sparky’s Kraft Coffee Roasting for Small Business Saturday and the Santa parade (starts at 5pm).
Come grab lunch, or dinner for later, or something to freeze and enjoy this winter (our Asian Rice bowls are perfect for this).
We will have Ramen, Rice Bowls, and Reubens. We have one new sauce for our Asian Rice bowls so if you like it HOT, come try it! And we don’t want to forget the kiddos so we will also have regular mac n’ cheese! Grilled chicken and pulled pork will be our two meat options. And we won’t forget the monster cookies.
Come hungry, leave happy and caffeinated!

The end of this season of life for me.

Yesterday I turned the keys and trailer over to its new owners. Excited to say this is staying local as they are from Pembina. Congratulations to John and Tara Emerson and their family on the start of their new adventure. The name will remain the same, but be ready for some new menu items!

I cannot say thank you enough to all who have supported me, who helped me make this business bigger than I ever imagined it would be, and helped give me memories that will live forever in my heart.

My last scheduled event of this season was yesterday. I got called for this event in February. I never could have imagined that I would be fortunate enough to have a schedule that was set so early in the year.
I am sure many but not all of you have heard I am planning to make this season my last.
It has been such a great experience!
I never realized how lucky I would be to have the huge local support I have had. And I never imagined how hugely successful this would be.
There are so many people to thank but that will come a little later.
For now, I will soon be listing this business for sale, but fingers crossed, I can get out a few more times before I really wrap this up. Weather, harvest, and life will all be determining factors in if I do or not, but I will certainly try.
In the interim, if anyone knows someone looking for a food truck, send serious inquiries my way. Thanks!!

We had a lovely private event at the Barn yesterday. Everything was perfect. catered. It was a beautiful day! Thank you for choosing to have your event at The Barn!

I was planning on doing a pop up this week but have not had the time, so hoping for next week! Keep an eye out.
In the interim, I am prepping for a few private events, reaping the benefits of our garden, cooking (Tik Tok got me with the Big Mac burger bowl, yum) and I was able to try a new food truck (Crave N it) while in Grafton for an appointment. It was a truly crispy and melty grilled cheese that hit the spot!
Thanks for your patience during harvest as I will appear here and there when I can.

Off the Charts was exactly that- OFF the CHARTS! But wait, there’s still a little more. Don’t forget Sunday worship in the park today! Come for doughnuts and what is always truly a great way to spend your morning!

Also. I will be opening for a short bit after to feed a few that are still around getting things cleaned up and torn down. You are welcome to come grab lunch or something for later!
Limited menu and amounts. Pork and grilled chicken, mac salad and coleslaw, Super Nachos, and I will have a few Asian Rice bowls made up, and lots of cold drinks!
