I would like to update everyone on our progress one last time before leaving October 8th (Tuesday) meeting on 522 in Warfordsburg at the large lot right outside of 70. We will be meeting here 8-9am, which will leave plenty of time for outside trailers to arrive. Like I said before, I will make sure we move mountains with this entire convoy. After numerous personal contacts with our local government officials, I received a special phone call from Unicoi County allowing us access into Erwin, Tennessee. This is in fact a huge minestone for our convoy. EVERYTHING WE HAVE BEEN WORKING TOWARDS IS A "GO". This being said, I am still asking for more trucks and trailers to help transport. If you can acquire, livestock materials on your own and can have your trailers loaded, that would be awesome. Unicoi County is fully aware of what we are bringing them and they are very appreciative. These items include any access to hay, straw, bedding, livestock feed including cat and dog food, water, medicines, syringes, hay feeders, feed dishes, fence posts, fencing and fencing supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, body wipes, deodorant, etc... Please try to acquire as much as possibly because this town needs it more then ever before. Anything extra that you can part with at you home and farm (livestock related), I am asking you to send as numerous donors as well as myself have already done. Again, we need more trucks and trailers so please contact me privately and let's move mountains as a town.

I am reaching out to my community with a heavy heart and honestly this is tough to write up. Many of you many know me and others may not. My name is Joseph Bytella and my lovely wife Melinda Bytella; we are the proud owners of Timber Valley Farm ( Equine Rehabilitation) located in our home and amazing town of Needmore, Pennsylvania. I am a USMC Veteran and was a convoy driver in Iraq; having been awarded a NAM (Navy and Marines Corps Achievement Medal) for my convoy experience, supplies transport and the successful transport of personnel during combat/rescue missions. This being said, I am organizing a transport mission to help bring supplies to the victims of Hurricane Helene. I have been in communication with our local state senator and congressmen, whom I have personal contacts with to get my convoy into the "disaster zone". Many people without contacts, yet heavy hearts and the willingness to help are being turned away due to the inability for access. I have many great people by my side and I am crossing my "T's" and dotting my "I's". I have connections with a rescue in Frederick, MD who used to pick up animals, which now is a disaster zone. This organization has offered to give me the supplies needed to rescue these families "loved ones". I have reached out to area businesses for donations and more to come here soon. My mission is to organize a 20-30 truck and trailer convoy to help bring supplies to this area. More vehicles would be amazing... In return, we will bring any animals we can fit in trailers back to our hometown so they are safe. YES, I have a 6 person family and business to run back here in Needmore, PA but I have decided to put that aside to help others that have lost everything. Imagine having 30 minutes to react and having to let everything go in basically "a instant". IMAGINE knowing that you for sure lost everything and then to find out that a town came together and helped save your animal/animals, whether it being a cat, dog, horse, or cow. We have no idea the situation... These families could have gotten this animal because they were going through cancer and some other family event or just because; we have no idea. How gut wrenching would it be if they found out that their animal was alive due to our efforts?!?! WORDS COULD NOT EXPRESS THE EMOTIONS. We take life for granted everyday but now it's time to help others in serious need who have no ability to ask for help. I should have clearance in less then a week and am asking my town to come together and help transport. I AM NOT ASKING FOR MONETARY DONATIONS, but if our community is willing to give then they will be transferred to our local farms and rescues who are able to take in these unexpected animals. AGAIN, I am asking our local town who wants to make a difference and has a big heart to join my transport. Its about an 8 hour commute one way and honestly this time doesn't suffice us living our lifetime. It takes a town to move mountains and this is our time. I know there are plenty of trucks and trailers in our area so let's make a difference and help others whom we know as "strangers". Whomever is willing to help transport (which im praying is many) will be provided with information when we get clearance and when/where to pick up supplies.
