Anderson Sod Farm

Anderson Sod Farm The Finest Kentucky Bluegrass Sod in Northeast Wisconsin. Statewide Delivery Available.

Don and Virginia Anderson started Anderson Sod Farm in 1960 on the family dairy farm. In 1969, once the sod farm was sustaining itself, Don sold all the cows and dairy equipment to focus on sod farming full time. In 1985 they sold the sod farm to their son, Jack, who continued to grow the business until his death in 1999. Jack's wife, Cynthy, continues to run the farm with the help of their sons,

Blake and Dylan, and a group of fantastic, dedicated employees. We only grow the finest quality kentucky bluegrass sod in the finest peat soil available anywhere! If you have any questions about our sod, or would like to order sod, call us at (920) 735-0929.

Due to unsafe weather conditions, tonight's Summer Kickoff Concert with The Glam Band has been postponed.

🎶 Join us instead on Tuesday, June 16, from 6:00–9:00 PM for an evening of great music, community, and summer fun!

We know this isn't the news anyone wanted, but the safety of our attendees, performers, and vendors comes first. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

We look forward to kicking off summer with you next week! ☀️🎸

🌱Sharing some great info from a neighboring sod farm (in Iowa). We see this same sun scorch reaction in Wisconsin all the time.

🌧Keep your lawns watered and fed, especially newer sod, and especially during the summer heat☀️

It's that time of year again! ☀️

As you are driving around town, you will probably notice younger lawns (0-7ish years in age) showing this kind of stress - especially if they are non-irrigated.

In our industry, we refer to this damage as "sun scorch". It is essentially a glorified sun burn and a direct result of the weather shifting from a very cool, wet spring to a dry, hot summer very quickly.

Unfortunately, juvenile lawns don't have deep enough root systems yet to be able to pull moisture from deeper profiles, so this means they are much more prone to this glorified sunburn.

How can you help? Stop mowing when you see signs of this damage. Dehydrating the plant more will only make it worse. 13-13-13 and water will help the area recover over time. Regular core aerations in your lawn program will help to promote the growth of deeper root systems that will help these lawns grow out of this behavior over time. 🥰💚🌾

📢April showers bring May Sod! Harvesting has been a real slog thru the mud, but we've been able to get beautiful bluegrass out to our customers for a couple weeks now. I didn't want to jump the gun and make a big "Open" announcement in case harvesting wasn't going to go well🌧. But we're going to be good after a nice drying weekend☀️

We'll reopen for business Monday morning🌱. Give us a call to get on the schedule at (920)735-0929. Let's make it a great year!
