Sometimes it's hard to put into words what moments like this mean.
NE-Leigh Farm has been selected as one of five farms and ranches representing Nebraska in the Farmer Veteran Coalition's America250 initiative, "Feeding Freedom: 250 Years of Service and Stewardship." We are truly humbled and honored by this recognition.
When Stephanie and I made the decision to leave our careers, move back to Nebraska, and restore our family farm, we simply wanted to build something meaningful—something that honored our family's roots, cared for the land, raised healthy food, and served our community. We never imagined our journey would lead to an opportunity like this.
We want to sincerely thank the Farmer Veteran Coalition, the selection committee, and whoever may have nominated us for this recognition. Your confidence in our mission means more than you know.
We are also grateful to our family, friends, customers, neighbors, and fellow farmers who have encouraged us through every success and every challenge. Your support has helped make NE-Leigh Farm what it is today.
Congratulations to our fellow Nebraska honorees—Mark Meyer of Rainmaker Prairie Farm, Nathan Coufal of Coufal Produce, Anthony Garcia of Garcia Eat Meats LLC, and Kristen Morlang of Sammy the Milk Maid. We are honored to stand alongside you as we celebrate America's 250th anniversary.
As a veteran-owned, family-operated farm, we believe that service doesn't end when the uniform comes off. Today, that service continues by caring for the land, raising healthy food, supporting our local community, and working to leave this farm better than we found it for the generations that follow.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to sharing this America250 experience with all of you.
