4K Ranch Rick and Linda Kern 4K Ranch is a small family farm specializing in "predictability in the pasture". Recently added Red Angus!

Showing is another passion and has been done through 3 generations. We strive in producing show cattle that will also make great cows. Our family has raised Herefords since the 1953 and the cattle business since 1853. We also raise Simangus, and club calves to further our reach in the commercial market.

Sad day at 4K Ranch. We lost one of best Hereford cows and her calf. Big calf. Yes, she was older and we got a great bull calf last year that will be herd bull. I get to attached to the animals.

We are having baby calves! But I forget to take my phone when I go see them. So far 1 heifer and 2 bulls.
Heifer and one bull full blooded Herefords and one Red baldy bull.

I'm trying something new with chickens. Our daughter Kristina thought I should try some kelp in there diet. Me: What! Sooo, the other day I was watching a Off Grid with Doug and Stacy video and they said they were going to add some kelp to their moma ewes feed after having her twin lambs. Man the stuff stinks. And you don't add much. Just thought I'd share.

So, this is the very back section of our farm. Went back to check on and a tree had fallen across both fences going to it. This is after Rick cleaned up. We seem to be growing rocks back there. Wish I'd had pictures from when we first got our farm. It was a mess.
